Sep 2, 2026
Iran - September 01, 2026 Explosions rip across the night and daytime skies in newly released footage showing U.S. strikes against Iranian military targets. The 58-second video, filmed by U.S. Central Command Public Affairs, captures munitions slamming into ground targets and massive impact plumes rising from sites identified by CENTCOM as IRGC military facilities. CENTCOM said its forces completed the wave of strikes on September 1, 2026, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. The targets included IRGC air-defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine-laying capabilities, and communications sites. CENTCOM said the operation followed recent attempted IRGC attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members. More than 50,000 U.S. service members are currently operating across the Middle East, according to CENTCOM, which said they remain prepared to continue operations directed by the Commander in Chief. Iranian officials said the same night’s strikes also hit civilian areas in Hormozgan, including a wedding in Kuhestak, Sirik County. CENTCOM said it does not target civilians and did not identify a specific target in Kuhestak.
