Suspect In Rihanna Shooting Pleads Not Guilty To New Charges
Oct 1, 2026
The woman accused of trying to kill Rihanna in a shooting at the singer’s gated Los Angeles property last March is now facing upgraded charges.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz pleaded not guilty to all 14 counts in a new indictment unsealed after she was declared mentally competent for trial.
The indictment includes a charge of attempted murder and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.
It also upgrades 10 assault charges, accusing Ortiz of using an assault weapon rather than a semiautomatic firearm.
Rihanna testified before a grand jury alongside her mother, Monica Patricia Fenty, who was at the house with A$AP Rocky and their three children at the time of the shooting.
Other witnesses included talent agent Tracey Renee Jacobs, a neighbor who heard gunfire, and a dog walker who reportedly saw a white vehicle fleeing the scene.
The indictment was returned on June 18 but remained sealed for more than three months while Ortiz underwent a competency evaluation.
