I had three kids at the age of 18
0:02
People say I'm glorifying teenage pregnancy, but I'm just showing my life
0:07
I would see my family as really creative, adventurous. But I feel like I'm about to cry with that
0:14
You need a minute? Mm-hmm. You're good. Okay. How would you feel if any of your children had kids at a young age
0:22
Treasure! I need you to come down with your brothers. It's time to clean
0:26
Hi, my name is Turquoise and I'm a mother of four. My oldest is Ta-Ead. He's 19 years old
0:33
Then I have 17-year-old twins, Marcel and Treasure. And then I have an 8-year-old. His name is Amir
0:39
Do you think it's fair that everyone kind of does a little bit to chip in and help
0:43
Yeah, I think it's a mandatory, actually. Y'all have their own home one day and I want them to keep their homes clean
0:51
What was it like having such a young mom growing up? Was it fun? Was it hard
0:58
There was hardship and fun. We're close in age, so I guess you could say we kind of relate a little bit like that
1:06
And then the hardships is that she's also growing up as well, being a young adult with children
1:15
So when I found out that I was pregnant at 16, I was super nervous
1:20
My mother was pretty disappointed. I actually hid it from her. Then I was 17 and I had got pregnant again and I found out that I was having twins
1:28
And so that's how I end up having three children by the time I was 18
1:34
How would you describe life as a teen mom with three children
1:39
Really hard. I don't advise anyone to do it. You know, at 18, you're supposed to be figuring out what you want to do with your life
1:47
You're not supposed to be raising children and then not on your own
1:51
What kind of stuff do you help your mom with? Like, sometimes I take out the trash a lot when I be helping her
2:00
Do you think your mom is a good mom? Yeah, she's a great mom
2:05
Zemir and Jameer, they were my second twin pregnancy. I did enjoy that pregnancy, but it was really rough because they were premature
2:14
I found that out at five months. I found out I was having identical boys. And they shared a placenta and Jameer which is Jameer twin he wasn getting everything that he needed And unfortunately he passed away 23 days before his first birthday
2:29
So I need the lettuce and cheese, and you can just put it on a plate like we do, so we can place it on the table
2:39
We're having tacos. Tacos is one of our favorite things to eat
2:47
So who do you guys think is the best cook in the family
2:52
I would say the best cook in the family is my mom, but Taip thinks it's him or mom
2:58
No, I was going to say my mother as well. And then me
3:02
Like, if you was in the cooking contest, you would get first, second, third, third, and fourth
3:11
You're not even fifth. Do you guys think your mom is strict
3:16
No, not at all. I think that I'm tricked when it matters
3:22
I've been living long enough to know what's important or more important
3:27
Do you guys feel like you can talk to your mom about anything? I feel like, yeah, because I'm really open with my mom
3:36
I don't keep my secrets. I really come to my mom a lot
3:41
I'll get along as siblings. I feel like we get along. At Similis, we get along sometimes, but nobody's perfect
3:49
So we have our ups and downs. Hey, guys. Welcome back to our channel
3:55
So right now I'm editing our New York vlog. We were there for Tyee's 19th birthday
4:00
I'm the second. Tyee is 19. Seriously, Tyee is 19. We want to go back down Times Square
4:05
We looking good. We want some pics. I love that I've captured so much happy moments with my kids
4:11
They're going around. They're going around. I started sharing my story online in about 2022
4:18
So some of the responses I've got on social media have been good, but some have been bad
4:26
I receive a lot of negative comments in regards to me being a teenage parent
4:34
It's as if people want me to go hide in the house. So some of the negative comments are comments like you need a chastity belt and straight jacket on that Just another grown woman I will look at as an example of what not to do how is having three kids before 18 to flex that sick with a sick emoji let
4:55
stop flexing this because that's showing this new generation that being a single teen parent is okay
5:00
another person said what happened to morals omg you shouldn't have a child or touchy not three
5:09
kids um so young but um you know this is my life sometimes i respond back to negative comments but
5:15
i've learned that it's best to not respond because a lot of the people on social media they can go
5:19
back and forth for days do people at school judge you guys or think it's weird that you have such a
5:26
young mom um i wouldn't say judge like no i'm older i wouldn't say judge they'll be like more
5:31
shocked like no that's your mom like sometimes like we'll walk in me and my mom we'll walk in
5:35
I started to probably think that's my sister or something. For the people that just, they would say things like
5:42
discredited my mom or something, like seeing she really don't take care of us or whatever
5:46
How do you feel about your mom posting videos of you guys online
5:50
doing the blog and Instagram? No, I do not mind being online
5:54
I actually absolutely love being online because, yeah, you get negativity, but I'm not really worried about that
6:02
I'm more focused on the positivity, and the positivity outweighs the negativity
6:07
I would say my family is really creative, if you want to call it that, or adventurous
6:14
Because as you can see, we really like going on trips and stuff
6:19
I feel like we're a great family. How are you? I'm pretty good
6:30
You know, we're going on a cruise to the Bahamas. Hopefully you were able to come with us
6:34
Yes, absolutely. How does it feel, Mom? Looking back, we're talking about how I had three kids by the time I was 18
6:42
I was so upset because the one time, okay, but the other right after, I'm like, what is going on
6:49
If you remember, I felt the kids. I felt that you was pregnant again
6:54
I wanted to scream out the window, it's going to be twins. That's what you get
6:59
But again, I have to take blame because you still a young teenager and I should have been watching you way better Like making sure that I was like And just more focused on you know was he taking birth control what was going on and being more open to talking
7:15
How would you feel if any of your children had kids at a young age, like you did
7:23
I would not be happy. I would be really sad because although I overcame many things being a teenage parent, I don't want that for my children
7:32
Me having teenagers myself now, I see that it's really important, like being aware and, you know, having those hard talks
7:40
Yes. Because you just look and your daughter's 18 with three kids
7:44
Yes. So I definitely understand. At the time, it just seemed like it was just scary just not knowing what you're going to do with being so young with small children
7:57
Like thinking back to all those years ago and now here we are, what do you think about your grandkids
8:03
Oh my God, I feel like I'm about to cry with that. You need a minute
8:11
Mm-hmm, you're good. Okay. They're amazing. And when you're in it, the time seemed like it goes so slow
8:18
But in actuality, it really goes so fast. Yeah. You did a great job with them
8:24
They're smart. They do so much. And the world is there. They're just beginning to live
8:29
Yeah, I'm excited. And I really do appreciate that. Like when you text me and write me like, oh, I'm proud of you as a mother
8:36
I know that how rough it was for you, knowing that I had three kids so young
8:42
But if I don't tell you enough, I'm super proud of you
8:45
You're so amazing. I love you. I love you too. Being a parent is hard at any age
8:55
But as long as you do your best and you love your children, things will be good
8:59
I definitely feel like I've grown up with my children. I'm super proud the way that I raised my children and the woman that I am today, the mother that I am today
9:07
I hope that all my children live successful, happy lives and then one day make me a grandmother
9:14
but we have some time for that we're speaking future
