care you're a citizen Arthur Arthur in
0:02
Alabama you got a question yes I do good
0:05
morning morning
0:07
Hy listen I got a question for your name
0:10
is connected with everybody who was
0:12
somebody in the last 50 Years of Hip Hop
0:14
and I appreciate you for that my
0:16
question to you andway in the morning
0:18
crew is this tell me about The One That
0:20
Got Away the one you wish now that you
0:22
would have kept around you got a lot of
0:24
hit makers I heard about all your
0:26
victories tell me about The One That Got
0:28
Away the when you said man I was I would
0:30
have hung on to that that person or that
0:32
lady or that hey man that's that's a
0:33
good question man you how long you think
0:35
about that question man it sound like
0:36
you wrote that out colored it you you
0:40
ran you ran it through a couple people
0:42
put a thumbnail on it yeah um that's a
0:44
great question you know what I'mma tell
0:46
you two stories real quick fast stories
0:49
um maa's old manager Cuda had a friend
0:52
that found Nelly in Atlanta I heard
0:58
it it's probably one of them days I
1:00
didn't
1:04
smoke was off your Jud was my [ __ ] was
1:08
off I was off my Square so I might have
1:10
missed on Nelly wow imag imag they
1:14
played you Country Grammar no they
1:15
played country Grandma how not hear that
1:17
if I didn't hear that I I shouldn't be
1:19
in the game they just played me nly who
1:21
he was and I just you know I I didn't
1:23
get it at that time and like I said I
1:25
should have puffed but I didn't um and
1:27
then um the other one that necessarily
1:29
did get away but I didn't I wasn't my
1:32
goal was not to manage and none of that
1:34
was Nicki Minaj i i i u found Nikki on
1:38
MySpace and she was really cool you know
1:41
you could listen to music and um I told
1:44
her who I was and she knew who I was and
1:45
I invited her to Daddy's house and she
1:47
came with a little nice little cute
1:49
little girl they look like a group they
1:50
were so cute both of them and she
1:52
actually wrote a verse for me and I was
1:54
so impressed with her that I called
1:55
Little Kim on the phone and said I think
1:57
I have your
1:58
Protege um and called her Hillary Weston
2:01
but at that time you know that's not
2:03
what they their mindset was but I said
2:05
Kim I'd like you to do a record with her
2:06
so Kim had a verse from an old freestyle
2:09
that I had that I had so I I used the
2:11
verse on the song with Nikki and said
2:13
I'd like and I sent it to her and
2:14
Hillary I said this is how I'd like her
2:16
to come on this record like this is an
2:18
example of the record and I had my hook
2:21
on it chorus and all that stuff on it
2:23
already and you know the answer was
2:25
never came back never did it and a few
2:27
months later it got leaked uh so if you
2:30
ever hear a record called everything out
2:32
there with little Kim and Nicki M that's
2:34
my record with me on it but it was never
2:36
meant to be heard but the goal was I
2:38
wanted Kim at least and this is before
2:41
Deb Anthony this is before cash money
2:43
this is when she had um fendy fendy
2:47
right yeah early mixtape Nikki right so
2:49
I tried mixtape Nikki right so I tried
2:51
to connect her with Kim super early and
2:54
it didn't work I still have the song So
2:56
shout out to Nikki but Nikki was open to
2:58
doing the song with Kim though well Nick
3:00
she didn't know we were going to do a
3:01
song she just came she she was just
3:03
coming to do a record with me I thought
3:04
she was dope it was called she was Nicki
3:06
Mirage and it had Minaj and like
3:09
quotations or something I was like oh
3:10
and I saw I was like oh this is she
3:11
reminded me of Yummy Bingham remember
3:13
yummy Bing she reminded me of yummy and
3:14
I was like oh she hot she's sexy she
3:16
cute so I invited her to come through
3:18
like come late do something she wrote
3:20
that verse right then and there laid it
3:21
for me and did her thing and so I just
3:24
said you know Kim oh my God like let's
3:27
not do what we did in the past if you
3:29
embrace this little girl you out of here
3:31
and it just just didn't happen it didn't
3:33
happen well hey uh Arthur great question
3:35
you're a citizen brother C you're
3:39
citizen
