oh my gosh and she didn't even know the Octagon was one of your sex
0:05
moves maybe she did have maybe I hat it here already stop it who
0:12
said she didn't know yo you know
0:18
what Lonnie light here who works for us he's U like NE assistant producer a he
0:24
dug that clip up and he told me I said what clip we going to uh start the interview with he said I found something
0:30
that was from 2014 oh my wow that was 11 years ago
0:36
that is deep the prophet and we were just having a conversation off air that
0:41
could be a a continuation to what those amazing words you just pour to break
0:48
down God that just touched me I was like Wow but it's true and that had to be God
0:54
speaking at that time because I mean that's who you are to us and even just
1:00
the conversation that we were having prior to getting on about that
1:06
communication being food to our spirits and our minds our hearts our purpose and
1:13
you give us great communication he does that makes us think that makes us
1:18
believe that makes us want to be better want to change want to elevate wow and
1:24
that is important wow and you oh can can I keep talking you know
1:31
I mean I mean I mean it's just such a blessing and when you think about people
1:38
that we choose to engage with or choose not to engage with they are a part of
1:45
the path that we'll end up on you know when we think about that saying how our footsteps are ordered by God right the
1:53
right people can help us get on the right path the wrong people can cause a
1:59
detour from our purpose right and then guess what we need to get back on track
2:06
a navigation a GPS system and guess what the GPS system is G the power of the
2:12
Holy Spirit you know what I'm saying like like sitting in your spirit and
2:17
really hearing God and knowing how to get back on path so the thing I would
2:23
suggest for all of us is to let go of the that may be continuing to put us on
2:30
the wrong path be okay with letting things go be okay with letting things go
2:35
be okay with letting people go what's on the other side of that oh like Mercy
2:40
Grace favor purpose purpose like when you think about it because at the end of
2:46
the day we really just want a purposeful life right we want to live intentionally
2:53
we don't have a long time on this Earth so the time that we here we're here we want to make it count like this past
3:00
year has been and last year and this year I mean I've seen friends go like
3:06
I've had losses like from people that I did not expect to be gone and I have one
3:12
particular friend that I lost and and it was an accident that that she was
3:18
involved in and oh gosh I I feel bad even talking about this but it was such
3:25
a story of um it was it was it was almost one of those like things where
3:32
where she was talking about a person that she wanted to let go of but that
3:38
person kept trying to hold on to her you know how some people like I don't know if I want to keep dealing with this person but then you continue to deal
3:45
with them because people will sometime try to guilt you into having relationships with them and things like
3:50
that but this person ended up being the reason for a very bad accident wow
3:56
eventually you know what I mean mean and so you just never no you know what I mean like sometimes people will put us
4:03
on the wrong path that could be detrimental to our lives and and and our
4:08
purpose and things like that so yo she came in hit the ground running at the
4:14
beach I know and we didn't even say her name yet so say the name before Ladi Gentlemen We Got The Magnificent Tasha
4:19
Smith is in the build jersey stand up producer director actor
4:25
philanthropist sister awesomeness awesomeness terrific human being so
4:32
Tasha was so dope about what you're saying um one of my closest friends and I were having a conversation last night
4:39
and we were talking about relationships and she said you know I'm a smart girl
4:45
and I can't believe I stayed in a relationship so long I don't know how I
4:52
would I allow this man to trick me for so long and I knew what was happening
5:00
but I couldn't get out I couldn't let go I couldn't escape I if you ask me what's
5:06
the definition of this I can tell you what's this I can tell you anything I was running my business at the same time
5:11
and I tricked myself and I wouldn't let go finally he ended up letting go and
5:18
leaving her do you think sometimes in relationships because I agree wholeheartedly with everything that
5:24
you're saying I've experienced what you're saying but do you think sometimes relationships blur all of that I'm
5:30
talking about intimate relationships with the you know your partner does it blur all of that because it's she
5:36
basically admitted she had a problem with letting go she couldn't let go you know yeah you know I I feel like like we
5:44
really have to get our minds and our Spirits strong right because the enemy will come in and Gaslight us all the
5:52
time and a lot of those relationships become very manipulative mentally and
5:57
emotionally right it's almost like that thing inside of us that's stuck in something in the past that we're looking
6:04
for and a lot of women unfortunately we tend to live in the
6:10
fantasy and not in the reality we live in the hope of what we want a situation
6:15
to be instead of what it actually is so sometimes that fantasy that we're we've
6:22
created in our minds will keep us in a situation or the Stockholm syndrome of
6:29
all we protect what's abusive to us right and it becomes this sick cycle and
6:35
honestly if we could break the chain and be okay with being alone and being
6:42
patient and allowing ourselves to love ourselves then we could really embrace
6:47
one that loves us because it's really a lack of love too when you think about it
6:53
because when you don't really embrace yourself and don't really believe the best about yourself and believe that you
7:01
deserve the best you deserve to be respected and honored and cherished when
7:07
you don't have that idea about yourself in your heart and in your mind you will
7:13
then Embrace what you think love is like I came up in a very like I mean abuse
7:20
was something that I was was normal to me you know what I mean like I thought
7:25
this was love like abuse was love you know what saying and you just get this
7:31
warped idea of really what love is and then you don't even know how to embrace
7:36
people that literally TR love you right but did you know you were in abuse like
7:43
sometimes people be in in situations don't realize it's abuse a form of abuse a form of abuse yeah you know what's so
7:49
deep is that I did know that okay I was getting my ass beat S I knew I was I
7:55
mean it was not just emotional and mental but I also experienced phys phical abuse as a kid right and even the
8:02
ones that's in the emotional abuse like your friend saying I know but what is
8:08
the thing that's just keeping you in that thing I really feel it is you
8:15
gaslighting yourself because what ends up happening you know you dealing with somebody you shouldn't be dealing with
8:20
and then after it just kind of burst like the bubble just bust and then you might want to cry out to God and be like
8:27
God why you do this to me God did not do that to you you allowed yourself to stay
8:32
in that situation because you thought you could change it and that's another thing with us women we think we going to
8:39
change a [ __ ] right I mean you ain't changing nobody that don't want to be
8:46
changed but do you understand what I'm saying 2% you ain't changing nobody
8:51
that's your fantasy that is not his reality that's not his reality you ain't
8:57
going to change a [ __ ] change a [ __ ] that don't want to be changed let me tell you something
9:04
everybody do exactly what they want to do and if you keep allowing them to do it to you trust me they gonna do it cuz
9:11
if I came up and said hey let me give you $200 you going to not take it I was literally negotiating something with
9:18
somebody I said you could either take a th000 or 1500 he said I want the 1500 of course you going to always want the 1500
9:26
of course just like brothers look if you allow them to keep dealing with you you
9:31
know while they're abusing you you think they not going to keep taking it they going keep taking ain't nobody turning
9:36
down no good that is okay with being abused and sometimes they think that is
9:43
better when it's abused [ __ ] excuse my mouth no we like it keep it keep it know
9:48
sometime folk think abuse [ __ ] is good [ __ ] how many times people say I'm in a
9:54
toxic relationship but I love it I it I love it toxic they want thatx
10:00
that toxic that toxic pinga right that toxic pinga I mean pinga is penis we
10:06
don't want toxic pinga that's girl girls the girls the girls do get out I can't
10:12
take it y That's him that's him oh my God this speaking for our you want
10:18
that but people do they be like I'm going to start an argument with it cuz that it's going to be real
10:24
good hey the makeup sex they look forward to that but you got it big the
10:30
the bigger the argument the better the sex I'm telling you that's what Smith is here man come on building
10:37
in the building Tracy get in there Tracy Tracy's in New York by the
10:42
[Music] way you look you can turn back to the camera Tasha okay yeah she came in
10:49
looking Super Fly you already know Tasha's Tasha's stunning always stunning
10:54
she in her sister cedra and this conversation is so funny because it's making me think that we're like in the middle of a scene for Why Did I Get
11:01
Married like cuz you already know that's Marcus and Angela you already know
11:07
that's Marcus and Angela oh my God tell Tyler Perry to hurry up and get it together let's go
11:14
right you ready you ready for the next ready come on we've been ready okay good
11:19
okay go ahead Trac on this subject Tasha because I'm telling you huie you are a
11:24
life coach as well and you are able to give such fantastic wisdom around all of
11:30
these relationships on the flip side because yes there are many of us who
11:35
have had a craving for the thrill of a toxic relationship right but then there
11:40
are times where being in a healthy relationship where you feel cherished for some folks also feels boring what do
11:49
you say to those that are like yo I I can't live without the drama is
11:56
something is a happy healthy relationship also a happy healthy boring
12:03
relationship see I just I feel like that reflects the being that that person is
12:08
like when you think about it like if drama and toxicity is what it is that
12:14
they want that's an internal thing when you really think about it if that's like an ingredient that you feel you need to
12:22
have in order to live like a fulfilled life that's an internal thing with you you know what I'm saying and when you
12:28
think about though the wrong ingredient could [ __ ] up a good meal do you follow what I mean like think about it like
12:35
theong you know what I mean bar right there like I swear like I cuz I love to cook right and it's all about the
12:42
seasoning and rosemary don't go in everything facts
12:49
okay we don't need it in the mac and cheese homie you know what I'm saying that's like putting some Rosemary and
12:54
some mac and cheese you be like wait a minute y'all just [ __ ] up this meal yeah yeah it didn't need the Rosemary
13:01
exactly exactly so what do you like to eat like really like what do you really
13:08
want and if you really crave happiness like if that is an internal
13:15
thing that you just desire deeply you're going to make different decisions on the
13:22
kind of people that you engage with as far as dating and things like that it's
13:29
you become I remember somebody asked me about this dude I was messing with was like yo you talk to I said I'm allergic
13:35
to that [ __ ] like like literally allergic he's a
13:40
virus like imagine when you allergic you start sneezing and cing and choking like cuz some allergies could cause asthma
13:47
like literally some things you're allergic to can literally stop you from breathing and have an attack some things
13:55
I'm allergic to I don't want no [ __ ] that's the ingredient you got to stay
14:01
away from period the [ __ ] but it can't stop in relationships like this has to be across
14:08
the board this has to be with professional relationships professionalism oh you can talk that
14:14
talk it got to be with friendships platonic relationship platonic relationships your
14:21
homies family members oh yeah that yeah that's true it got to be people from
14:27
your past your old school friends all that work environment work environment
14:33
work EnV you it can't stop at relationships right let no and it and
14:38
it's great to come to that realization and we we we're in the second half I always say we I'm in the second half of
14:44
life right when I was in the first half I co I dealt with it I felt I had to cope with it you had to I felt like you
14:51
had to but when I got to the second half that feeling was eradicated immediately
14:57
I understood that I never had to cope with it right and you reach that point in life where that Revelation hits you
15:03
you don't want to live by nothing else and you get a smaller and smaller tolerance for the [ __ ] no for the
15:09
[ __ ] you do and you realize when you get into that second half that you
15:15
literally don't have to do nothing you don't want to do can't nobody because
15:23
make you do anything you don't want to do you know when we were younger it was almost like fear just kind of like was
15:30
would consume you like a lot of times we would engage in things out of fear like
15:36
I feel I I fear you know like I have to deal with this person and I have to take
15:41
their [ __ ] out of fear of what they could do to you or you know what I'm saying what they could say about you but
15:48
once you get to a certain age I don't care what anybody thinks about me what
15:56
anybody got to say about me I am a 54 year old woman that has lived such a
16:03
serious life I've overcome obstacles that most people would not have been able to live through let me tell you
16:11
something what I don't want to deal with sway can kiss my ass Tasha Smith we
16:17
going to open up the phone lines 888 742 3345 you kiss my
16:23
ass4 five let's go Tor Jersey let's go swe
16:29
on the west coast Why Did I Get Married Why Did I Get Married to For Better or Worse yep
16:38
the corner Empire daddy's little girls addicted Boston Common oh my God damn I
16:47
go way back way back that was 1996 we didn't see people like us on those shows back then right we did not
16:54
which is crazy and those two guys Max mutchnik and David Co
16:59
from Boston comment I I'm actually developing a show with right now that we we co-wrote together and that was like
17:06
over 30 years of a relationship that we've had isn't that crazy and I was I
17:12
named my production company black girl because I was the only black girl usually in Productions wow okay like I
17:19
was always the black girl okay you were that person right how are things different now I mean we we see more of
17:26
us now we see more shows that represent us that represent our culture it's not just one-sided through one lens but it's
17:33
it's uh various lens and and of of our stories and we have so many incredible
17:40
writers black writers and directors and producers and that's just representing a
17:46
vast a big large you know part of our culture and that is really exciting
17:51
that's really exciting did you always know you wanted to step behind the camera because we met you in front of
17:58
the camera camera right but now every time I turn on a show that I like directed Tasha Smith I see come on I see
18:06
your nameing up and I and I think Harlem oh my gosh Harlem shout out to Tracy
18:12
Oliver and everybody amazing job God mayor of Kingstown which was so
18:20
fun being math being able to do that and as a black woman to be able to set the
18:27
tone of that series the pilot andu the first Seas with I
18:32
mean it was really a blessing you know it was a dream that I had like I had a
18:38
dream that I wanted to direct but to be honest I was afraid I I I didn't think I
18:44
would be able to do it I had a lot of insecurity you know about that impostor
18:50
syndrome impostor syndrome but why you didn't believe you would be able to do it you had been in the business for so
18:55
long you know I think it was probably because of me having a lack of of
19:01
Education in the traditional way as far as directing like I didn't go to film
19:06
school I felt like there were some technical things I didn't understand you know I really you know during the time
19:13
of the dream I didn't really have any real mentors that that really helped me
19:19
until later on like Lee Daniels le mckel guy named Billy wood of like I ended up
19:25
getting people that really encouraged me you know what I'm saying and once I find
19:31
I went to a a a summer program at USC I ended up directing my first short film
19:37
called boxon that I wrote 2015 baby which was great right yeah and that gave
19:43
me confidence and also teaching acting like I would teach acting and and you
19:49
know we were I I'm basically directing scenes setting up scenes I knew how to communicate with actors you know when
19:55
directors would come I would work with some directors to help them you know like break down the characters and
20:02
things like that and I think teaching acting gave me confidence in my
20:07
storytelling I knew I could communicate with the actor to tell the story you
20:13
know and then I got stronger with the visuals of it all and now I'm I'm obsessed yeah like like love it I love
20:23
it I love and I love that you get back with tsaw right your Workshop program right that what inspired that to be able
20:30
to communicate with folks how to do the best job yes because I I thought that teaching acting was me just giving to
20:38
others I didn't realize that they were also giving to me every opportunity I
20:45
got to teach and to block a scene and to set up a scene I was literally
20:51
cultivating my director on the inside of me so when I go to set I'm not afraid to
20:58
tell the story and communicate with the actor I because I have been training
21:03
doing that for 20 years as a teacher you know a lot of people didn't know that
21:09
that I was teaching like I remember a long time ago I was up for a
21:14
movie and and I hate to say this but it's true but I was meeting with an
21:20
actor and I was so excited to meet with this actor and you know the movie that
21:27
it never happened but they the The Producers wanted me to meet with this actor and this actor was like well what
21:33
makes you think you could direct this the actor said this yes a black man like what makes you think you could do this I
21:39
mean you ain't even been in nothing that good really you know L like literally
21:45
rush I'm not even playing like it was it was devastating and I was like I had to
21:52
brush that [ __ ] off so fast so fast and
21:58
even when I started directing I went straight to the opposite of what people
22:04
knew about me because people had seen me working with TP so much right and they
22:09
thought that that's that's Tyler Perry you know who his friend Perry you know
22:15
TP you know you and have to know him personally he's been on the show you know I've been on you know right right
22:22
but um or I should say Mr Perry Mr Perry Mr Perry but you know people had had
22:28
seen me at you know in that space for such a for a minute you know with Daddy's Little Girls Why Did I Get
22:34
Married Why Did I Get Married to all of that but there was still so much more in me and so many other stories to tell and
22:42
I said well when I start directing I'm going to go I'm going to do the opposite of what people think they know about me
22:48
and that's why it was so drama heavy crime Thriller things like that because
22:54
I just needed to explore a different part of my instrument and for people to see a different side of me you do you do
23:01
excellent work I mean to cut you but just the result of all the things I'm loving hearing this back story to how
23:07
you came to directing CU every time I watched you direct I always saw it at in
23:12
the credits like after I watched some amazing episodes I like what Dasha you
23:18
know and so you do excellent work give her a round of applause for that absolutely continue I apologize I know I
23:24
mean I just love it and I'm and I'm grateful for the opportunity you know I felt like I I was in a space
23:31
you know in the early part of my directing career where I had to prove myself I felt I felt like I did not but
23:38
I felt like I had to prove myself to people you know people were like well she's just an acting teacher and she's
23:45
just an actress and she's only done these kind of movies and you know they felt like they had my number but they
23:51
didn't understand the passion in me they didn't understand that while I had been teaching for 20 years as all I was doing
23:59
was really directing scenes you know blocking scenes setting up scenes really
24:06
cultivating I felt like I was hidden you know but that's how God does it it's a
24:12
process to the success proc and look at it now and that process is a part of the success all right Tasha Smith is here we
24:20
we going to keep you going we supposed to have you for 20 30 minutes but you ain't got nowhere to go do you not not
24:26
right there not at the moment okay cool Bo is on the line from New Jersey what's happening what's happening
24:33
what's happening hey Bo hey what you got to say to Tasha man oh man you're inspiration
24:41
and you fine as hell yo bo I just left the room and I and I told told everybody in the other
24:48
room I had to leave cuz Tasha keep staring in my eyes I can't take it he
24:53
didn't tell me Tas cuz I would have told on him immediately I would have been like Tasha sway got crush on yo I'm
25:00
like I love I love you too every time your sister and you look me in my eye
25:05
I'm like oh geez man but no but absolutely Bo go ahead man what what would you like to say to her um I just
25:12
want to thank you your inspiration um uh that you know that narcissistic uh thing
25:18
you know I'm saying I've was going through it um you made my day and you still and you fine as hell oh that's
25:26
what he really C I appreciate it I'd rather be an inspiration thank you you
25:33
know just no listen listen you're both you're both more of an inspiration well I don't know thank
25:41
you go to work Bo go get a Bo go get that check make that
25:46
money morning uh let's go to uh sh is in Toronto Char welcome to the
25:54
show hi everyone hope you're doing well yes yes excellent say hi to Tasha
26:01
SMI congratulations T Tasha on all your success thank you sis I appreciate
26:09
it and you're fine as hell just
26:15
kidding sh's into things I love you for that sh go ahead I actually called I actually
26:22
called about two years ago when you guys were talking about people who have done you wrong and I tried to tell my story I
26:27
left a very bad abusive uh domestic abuse situation um that I was in for about 15 years um wow I had been
26:36
together with someone from college we got I got together with him since I was 19 years old um it was an extremely
26:41
toxic relationship but again there was no education on you know healthy relationships and so I thought abuse was
26:48
normal um so I got into this toxic relationship with this with this jerk for a long time um I'm actually still in
26:55
court it's been two years and I'm still fighting for everything but you know I I
27:00
think there's a there's an end there's an end somewhere um but I just want to thank you for Shining Light on this you
27:06
know just the topics of just what's been normalized um especially in in in cultures with people of color I'm guye
27:13
and I think it's just been very normalized in our culture you know the abuse and what to take from men and it's
27:19
just like I think nowadays you know women are just having more of an education on you know value and just you
27:26
know to actually treat yourself some kind of worth and just not take that kind of behavior anymore um it took me a
27:34
really long time to break out of that go ahead how are you how are you
27:39
doing now um it's it's extremely difficult it's extremely difficult because uh you
27:48
know it seems the system favor men like him you know he makes a lot of money
27:53
he's a you know corporate image kind of you know type person and it's just it's
27:58
being favored um and it it's really like it doesn't even matter what these kind of people do anymore it's just it's kind
28:04
of praise to be a narcissist these days it's really disgusting um but at least more women are are getting educated on
28:10
you know what that behavior looks like and you know what gaslighting is what a trauma bond is what all of that is and
28:16
it's it's just it's making it a lot I see a lot of people getting divorced these days and and I think that that's a
28:21
good thing that people are actually you know stepping up for what they believe in and you know just not taking that
28:27
especially divorce is shamed in so many cultures even with my family like my parents are still not supportive of my
28:34
divorce knowing that this man has put my hands on me has put my put hands on my children and it's still like I had to
28:40
beg them to take wedding pictures off the wall I had to you know like just things like that well sh I'm so sorry
28:47
that you had to go through that but I'm so excited for you and your future that
28:52
you got out of it and so I just want to encourage you to not give up on love and
28:59
to dream as big as you can and to try if you can to replace some of those
29:05
thoughts with just what it is that you really desire for your life there's a
29:10
scripture that says the weapons of our Warfare are not carnal But Mighty through God to the pulling down of
29:17
strongholds and casting down imaginations so if you can try because
29:23
sometimes that's where the battle is in your mind how you think how you think of yourself and we have to reshape how we
29:31
see ourselves how we see life so try to dream about and visualize about what you
29:37
want your life to be those thoughts will probably bring you Joy try not to sit
29:43
and meditate on the past because when you meditate on that that's where you become like Frozen and stuck and keep
29:50
embracing the things that have happen instead of trying to embrace what's in front of you so I just say God bless you
29:58
I encourage you have faith in God you know I pray Joy over your life sis I'll
30:04
be cussing and preaching at the same time we under construction that's God know my
30:12
heart but sis new production company alert right God bless you sis but
30:19
seriously dream about how you want your life to be from this point on that
30:26
situation in the past is going to work itself out it's going to be a process in
30:31
working it out embrace the process but look forward to the future amen there
30:37
you go sh thank you for sharing your life with us sh you caugh that obedience sh God bless you okay and and call us
30:45
with the joy too sh The Joy report all right we want the joy report okay thank
30:50
you you a super citizen
30:55
absolutely that's hilarious thank you um we have to talk about the new show
31:02
survival of the thickest yes the new season stting March 27 right Netflix yes
31:10
Michelle BH shout out to Michelle Michelle was awesome listen let's start with the
31:17
title survival of the thickest well who came up like tell that's her that was based on Michelle's book okay right
31:24
survival of the thicket and you know so she she wrote WR a book about her life
31:29
and you know just being a sister that was able to get that book turned into a series was a blessing I met Michelle
31:37
when I was doing a First Wives Club with my sister Jill Scott right cuz that was
31:42
like a blessing for Jill and I because you know we hadn't worked together since uh we did Why did I get married so I was
31:49
really looking forward to us doing that and Michelle and I had a brief moment you know on the set and that's how that
31:56
came about and I just I wanted to support her you know what I mean like you know being a sister that was
32:04
producing a show created a show so I came in there on that first season with her really just wanting to have her back
32:13
okay and support her as a black woman and then the show came back you know I
32:18
ended up coming back as a series regular they asked me to direct some episodes you know so and that was like my first
32:25
time like really directing myself know what I mean and um and it's funny how do you do that I mean
32:32
preparation preparation like literally everything is about preparation because it was
32:38
probably two of my biggest episodes right that I'm directing myself in which
32:44
was just absolutely insane but it was also so much fun and you know I get to I
32:51
play a queer woman I I I directed Harlem right and I was able to uh see get uh
33:01
have Jerry play my love interest from Harlem and it was so cool Michelle doesn't even know this but I'mma tell
33:07
this first here on S when Jerry was up for for uh survival
33:12
of the thickest I was like well she just kind of played this part on har and I directed her and Gil beam in that
33:20
beautiful episode did you see that on that sofa girl when legs came over I live for her and
33:28
do you know I believed everything about that I believe they hung out after let me just tell you something when I
33:34
directed them I was I knew that the that season two was coming up and what my
33:40
work would be in season two and I'm watching them work together and I was like please I really want someone like
33:48
one of them to play my love interest for season two and then when Jerry came up
33:53
for it I wasn't sure I was like Michelle do you think that you know that it's right for her to come from Harlem to
34:00
this show and she's like look hey I'm I think she's perfect it's a different network a different kind of show I said
34:07
okay Bet Jerry calls me I say Jerry let's get together girl Jerry and I met
34:14
for hours and we rehearsed before her her screen test so we
34:21
literally rehearsed and worked together I said girl let's make some chemistry
34:26
that cannot be Deni and then when she came in for the audition her and I
34:32
looking like yeah girl let's go they couldn't deny it and and she
34:37
ended up getting the part but what was so funny you know I'm not a queer woman
34:42
have a lot of queer women in my life and so I don't know what what female female
34:48
sex is like right okay I don't know right TR you want
34:54
to well let me tell y'all what was the funniest thing was when me and Jerry had
35:00
a love scene right and they said okay you got to get on top of her and y'all start making love right know so I was
35:07
like I literally opened my legs right to get on top and I was like how y'all do
35:12
it like this I was like this don't how did how does this work how do we have
35:20
sex like thisha get out I'm not playing and so Jerry was
35:25
like that's why I'm glad that I had a strong powerful queer woman that taught
35:31
me how to be a queer woman she said oh no no no no no baby girl we got to open the leg we going to get the scissor it's
35:39
like like you know where y'all like that you know the vagin had to kind of come
35:45
together and get some yo I was like oh this is how you get off I said damn it I
35:51
didn't know sis I was like could you imagine I was so and the director didn't even know what to do I was like and but
35:57
Jerry had to literally set up the scene and work that out so it was it turned
36:03
out all right she's dope listen she is the most beautiful vibrant beautiful
36:10
woman yeah I just love her I love jry Johnson I love her we can't tell enough
36:16
stories I know right about black women though like you know because know we haven't seen enough yes right so over
36:23
the years and only recently have we truly been seeing more story lines
36:29
Perry mean so this is great to hear and this is what makes this series so great right
36:36
yes it's so fun it's said this season is so fun you'll see Mavis going through
36:41
just finding her love like getting back into love she is going to take us on a beautiful ride tone Bell is absolutely
36:50
fantastic you're going to see his character going through so much stuff oh my gosh and Marley is just in full power
36:57
my character I mean love deciding this is what she wants relationship wise
37:02
getting to explore that relationship with Jerry it is such a fun show it's rooted it's real we had all these
37:09
incredible female directors one being myself you know there was Amy anobi and
37:15
timby Banks and Kim oh my God I mean it's just such a vibrant group of women
37:22
and so it's a blessing and I'm excited for the second season of survival of of
37:27
