women in rap suffered the same fate that

men did when the music business just

primarily start focusing on that kind of

messaging what we call gangster rap or

they've always tried to sexualize female

rappers even when even when they um were

conscious um for example um Body and

Soul which was de Barnes and an almighty

um desire was her name in the group and

she they were always pressured they were

a conscious Duo but they were always

pressured to look sexy to you know dress

in a certain way so I think even then

there was conscious female rappers but

the industry tried to

sexualize um female rappers and I think

also with the other thing that I heard

was when the industry really stepped in

it took the Artistry out of it because

people felt like well I got to make this

kind of music in order to get a record
