Virginia Task Force 1 (VA-TF1) said one survivor was extricated after rescuers maintained contact for more than 12 hours during a complex operation at one of two collapsed buildings. According to the US Geological Survey, magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes struck Venezuela 39 seconds apart on Wednesday. National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said the death toll had risen to 1,430, with 3,238 people injured, as rescue operations continued across affected areas.
