Hundreds of volunteers gathered in the capital Caracas to deliver donated clothing and aid supplies for earthquake victims. Between 25,000 and 30,000 people are unable to return to their homes in the capital due to fear of aftershocks and ongoing damage assessment efforts, according to Venezuelan media. While some of these people have set up tents in parks, thousands of city residents whose homes were completely destroyed or severely damaged, are being accommodated in temporary shelters. Two earthquakes measuring magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela on Wednesday, 39 seconds apart. The death toll from two powerful earthquakes climbed to 1,450 on Sunday, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said.
