Drone footage captured extensive damage in Macuto, where rescue personnel searched collapsed buildings for survivors, evacuated injured residents and established a field operations base to support ongoing emergency efforts. According to the US Geological Survey, magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday just 39 seconds apart, with epicenters near San Felipe and Yumare in Yaracuy state. Authorities warned the disaster could affect up to 6.76 million people, including as many as two million in the capital, Caracas, as damage assessments and rescue operations continue.
