The footage, recorded at 1:10 p.m., coincides with a rare atmospheric explosion caused by a bolide meteor off the Massachusetts coast. Scientists say the space rock, estimated to be about three feet wide, detonated high in the atmosphere, producing a sonic boom with an energy release comparable to roughly 300 tons of TNT.
