US, Los Angeles: Downtown Los Angeles Police Pursue Stolen Mustang in Downtown Incident.

Los Angeles, United States - September 06, 2026 09/06/2026 01:00 am GMT-0700 DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A stolen Mustang led police on a short pursuit through downtown. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton and Central divisions initiated the chase before executing a pit maneuver, causing the vehicle to crash into a city pole. The pursuit ended with a standoff, during which the suspect refused to exit the vehicle while reportedly lighting and smoking a cigarette. As a K9 unit arrived on the scene, the suspect surrendered voluntarily and was taken into custody without further incident.
