Officials said the fire, which began on May 2, continued to burn through dense vegetation in the river bottom and progressed west overnight. Around 75 personnel were assigned to the incident as authorities worked to contain the fast-moving blaze. Authorities urged the public to avoid the area around State Route 85 and Hazen Road, warning that non-emergency traffic was hindering firefighting operations.
