Aerial footage captured by Mississippi Forestry Commission pilots showed thick smoke rising from the active fire as wildland firefighters continued containment efforts on the ground. The Mississippi Forestry Commission said several wildfires had been reported over the weekend, prompting additional burn restrictions across the state.
