A wildfire broke out on the slopes of Mount Longa near the city of Palermo and spread overnight due to strong winds, according to local sources. Several roads were closed near the town of Trabia, where emergency services evacuated residents after flames threatened nearby homes. The wildfires disrupted daily life across Sicily, causing power outages in some areas and forcing road closures. Fires were also reported at several points along the highway connecting the island's two largest cities, Palermo and Catania. Near the town of Santo Stefano Quisquina in the province of Agrigento, a wildfire intensified due to strong winds and threatened residential areas, prompting the evacuation of more than 100 people.
