Italy: Wildfire threatens residential areas on Italy's Sicily.

VARIOUS OF FLAMES AND SMOKE RISING FROM WILDFIRE-AFFECTED AREA IN SICILY / FIREFIGHTERS BATTLING WILDFIRE / FIREFIGHTING AIRCRAFT AND HELICOPTERS TAKING PART IN OPERATION PALERMO, SICILY, ITALY - SEPT. 10: A wildfire that broke out near the Sicilian city of Palermo on Thursday threatened nearby residential areas, with flames damaging several homes. The fire started around midday in the Carcatizzi area of Giardinello and spread rapidly, reaching some nearby homes. Firefighters battled the blaze from the ground, while a firefighting aircraft and two helicopters were deployed to support efforts from the air. A forestry worker taking part in the firefighting operation was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The wildfire comes as central and northern parts of Italy are battling heavy rain and storms, while wildfires continue to affect the southern island of Sicily.
