Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers, entered the town and reportedly demolished four Palestinian-owned homes in Area C. During the operation, troops also used tear gas and stun grenades and detained one Palestinian after assaulting him, local sources said. An Israeli court had previously rejected a request to halt demolition orders issued against 14 homes in Nahalin. Naim Fannoun, a 15-year-old whose family home was demolished, told Anadolu that Israeli forces forced his family to leave the house before carrying out the demolition. He said he hoped they would rebuild their home. Mahmoud Fannoun said the house, built on family-owned land, was demolished in less than an hour after years of work, leaving five children without a home. He also said Israeli forces detained his daughter after she protested the demolition. Israeli forces also demolished a separate two-story house belonging to Raid Hassan Abu Raiyyeh in the town of Zaatara, east of Bethlehem. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli occupiers carried out 3,488 attacks against Palestinians and their property during the first half of this year. The Israeli army and occupiers have intensified their attacks in the occupied West Bank since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, killing at least 1,181 Palestinians, injuring 13,000 and arresting nearly 24,000, according to official Palestinian figures.
