VARIOUS OF WORKERS DEMOLISHING PALESTINIAN HOME WHILE ISRAELI EXCAVATOR DEMOLISHES ANOTHER HOME JERUSALEM, PALESTINE - SEPT. 9, 2026: Israeli forces demolished Palestinian-owned homes in the al-Bustan neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Municipal workers, accompanied by Israeli police, arrived in the neighborhood in the morning and demolished a home belonging to the al-Rashq family, citing a lack of building permits, according to local reports. Israeli police blocked access to the neighborhood during the demolition, while municipal workers carried out the work. In the meantime, Israeli forces also continued demolition work, using an excavator, on a home belonging to the Badran family next to the al-Rashq family's home. The demolition of the home had previously begun, according to local reports. Since the start of Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip in 2023, Israeli forces have intensified operations across the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, with reports of killings, arrests, forced displacement, home demolitions and settlement expansion. Israel has occupied the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since 1967. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the occupied territories illegal under international law, a position Israel rejects.
