.DEIR AL-BALAH, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - AUG. 30, 2026: Two Palestinians, including a child, were killed in an Israeli army attack that targeted an area where civilians were present in the central Gaza Strip. According to information obtained from hospital sources, the Israeli army bombed an area where civilians had gathered west of the city of Deir al-Balah. Two people, including a child, were killed and two Palestinians were injured in the attack. Last October, a US-backed ceasefire agreement ostensibly went into effect in the Gaza Strip. Since then, however, repeated Israeli truce violations have killed at least 1,318 Palestinians across the enclave and have left more than 4,300 others injured. Hundreds of bodies of slain Palestinians, meanwhile, have been pulled from under the rubble of destroyed infrastructure. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began its genocidal war on the coastal strip in October 2023.
