China: Second-hand EVs gain traction in China.

【Voice_over】 Sales of pre-owned electric vehicles in places like Shanghai are soaring, as more gently used cars enter the marketplace. Consumers at this used car dealership in the city say Chinese made EV's offer the features they want at prices they can afford. 【Sound_bite】 Zhou Chengxuan, consumer: "I tend to choose homegrown new energy vehicles, because of the driving experience and some smart functions." 【Voice_over】 The dealer said 40 percent of their sales so far this year have been of EV's. Some models are even in short supply. 【Sound_bite】 Gong Jie, general manager, car dealer: "This year, sales of new energy vehicles account for about 40 percent of the total. Many new energy vehicles have been used for two years. More young people make better spending decisions and choose used new energy vehicles." 【Voice_over】 The flood of used EVs in the Chinese market started with government incentives for consumers to buy electric. But since the phase-out of direct subsidies four years ago, China's EV market has remained strong because car makers have invested into sustainable technology, which has reduced production costs.
