Chizhou, China - May 03, 2026 This is the heart-stopping moment that a Chinese female tourist narrowly avoided plunging down a mountainside after slipping on a downhill path at a scenic area. On May 4, 2026, in Chizhou, Anhui, the video captured a dangerous accident at the Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area. A woman lost her footing while walking down a sloped section of the mountain trail and suddenly slid toward the edge after falling against the rocky hillside beside the path. The footage showed the woman rapidly losing control as she slipped downward along the rocks near a steep drop. Just as she was about to continue sliding toward the cliffside, a man standing further ahead reacted within seconds and grabbed hold of her arm. His quick response successfully stopped the woman from tumbling down the mountainside. According to the scenic area management, staff members later responded to the incident and said they would add more warning signs in dangerous sections of the route and further improve protective railings along the mountain paths to help prevent similar accidents in the future.
