China: Chinese Tourists Film Rocks Falling Behind Tianmen Cave in China.

Zhangjiajie, China - May 24, 2026 This is the terrifying moment that a large sheet of surface rock suddenly broke away from the mountain behind Tianmen Cave as tourists were visiting the Tianmen Mountain scenic area. On May 25, 2026, in Zhangjiajie, Hunan, the video captured rocks peeling off from the rear side of the mountain near Tianmen Cave, one of the landmark spots at the scenic area. Footage filmed by tourists showed a wide section of surface rock loosening before tumbling down the cliff, sending debris falling from the steep mountainside. Visitors at the site appeared to witness the dramatic scene from a distance as the rocks dropped behind the famous natural arch. According to a notice issued by the Tianmen Mountain scenic area, the falling rocks occurred in a non-sightseeing zone and no one was hit. The scenic area also said there was concrete protection above the tourist area. The video ended with the fallen rocks dropping behind Tianmen Cave as tourists continued watching the dangerous scene from the viewing area.
