BOLIVIAN PRESIDENT RODRIGO PAZ SPEAKING TO PRESS (Spanish)LA PAZ, RIO ABAJO, BOLIVIA - JUNE 5: Police and military personnel removed roadblocks erected by protesters demanding the resignation of Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz in the Rio Abajo district of La Paz on Friday, June 5, reopening routes used for food distribution and transportation. The protests, which have continued for nearly three weeks against what is described as Bolivia’s worst economic crisis in the last 40 years, have led to clashes between demonstrators and security forces in several cities, especially the administrative capital La Paz. Bolivia's defense and education ministers stepped down Tuesday following weeks of anti-government protests calling for Paz to resign. The administration of Paz blames supporters of former President Evo Morales, who currently faces an arrest warrant, for the violence and unrest. Morales called on the government to hold elections within 90 days as a solution to the crisis.
