REPRESENTATIVES ADRESSING PRESS CONFERENCE AFTER MEETING SANTIAGO, CHILE - MAY 28: Representatives of five Latin American countries gathered in Santiago, Chile, on Thursday, May 28, and signed the Santiago Regional Commitment, a joint agreement aimed at strengthening regional cooperation against organized crime. The agreement was signed during a regional meeting attended by Chilean President Jose Antonio Kast, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, Chilean Foreign Minister Francisco Perez Mackenna, Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Hugo Aramayo and Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos Pareja. The five countries agreed to develop a joint action plan to combat organized crime and enhance cooperation on regional security issues. The meeting brought together countries aligned with the "Shield of the Americas" initiative and concluded with the signing of the regional commitment.
