This year's IFA comes at a contentious time for the consumer tech industry in the U.S
0:05
We're seeing bans on all kinds of things, drones, robots, et cetera, et cetera
0:10
And at the same time, pace of innovation outside of U.S. borders is not slowing down
0:16
So let's check out all the tech that may or may not be available in the U.S
0:22
Today, our lab is the Messe Convention Center in Berlin. Let's go
0:27
Roomba is bringing the innovation at IFA and I love to see it from the OG robot vacuum brand
0:34
This is the Roomba 875. Now it's got two cool things I want to talk about. The first thing is
0:40
called a seal force. You'll see it in action here. See how this comes down? This is a little skirt
0:47
What it does is when it goes onto carpet, this little skirt will lower. This basically creates
0:55
to seal with the carpet to direct the suction in one place, allowing for better suction deep
1:04
into the carpet fibers. The other innovation here pertains to mopping. So they have this big roller
1:10
mop. Do you see how thick this is? So these roller mops, as opposed to the spinning pads that you see
1:17
on other robot vacuums, the roller mops have proven very effective in our testing at removing
1:24
set in stains. And this has another innovation. This is called a Thermomist. So as it mops
1:33
this, you'll see, it will spray a mist out. The water is heated to 140 degrees. So it
1:41
mists it as the roller rolls The mist loosens the dirt The roller rolls it picks it up Roomba used to be based in the U and now they are owned by a Chinese brand However this already has pre so it is available in the U
1:57
$1,200. Quick hit stop to discuss RGB LED. This is one of the hottest terms in TV technology right now
2:05
It means red, green, and blue LEDs. Different from the standard white or white and blue LEDs
2:11
that most TVs use. So it is said to improve color performance
2:16
However, in our testing, we're still finding that OLED provides a much better viewing experience because with these RGB LED TVs, we're seeing across the board some serious problems in real world viewability with this thing called light bloom, which is a haze along high contrast edges
2:37
So in a scene where there is multiple colors, you might see it's not as crisp as it should be, especially when you view the TV from the side
2:47
So for now, stick with OLED. Oh, my God. Kodak made a Barbie camera
2:52
How cute. So cute. It's pink. I need it. Hey, buddy. Come on, let's go
3:00
This is the PrimeBot Q1. This is a humanoid robot. This is the most endearing one I've ever seen
3:08
Why? Because it holds your hand and walks with you. It's actually pretty genius because holding hands with something has been proven to release feel-good, happy hormones in your brain
3:19
So I've never actually had an affinity towards a humanoid before until I met this little one
3:26
It's also pretty unassuming. It's not kind of scary. This thing stands less than three feet tall
3:33
This is designed for home companionship. So if you think about people that have dementia or loneliness this thing could actually provide some emotional support almost like a dog but without the work
3:49
It should be launching in China for around $8,000. Probably not going to be available in the U.S
3:55
The company says that they do hope to bring it to the U.S. next year
3:59
However, with the regulations on robots, on foreign robots, I highly doubt that we'll ever be able to see this thing in the U.S
4:10
You want a security camera that's not going to miss a thing? Look at this one
4:14
This is the Reolink Omvi 2i Ultra. It combines two lenses, an 8 megapixel lens wide lens on the top with a 5 megapixel pan tilt lens on the bottom into one wireless model
4:30
It also supports solar. You can see right here, you have the solar panel on here
4:35
This is a big version of it, but this bottom part moves
4:38
So what happens is when the top, the wide view lens finds a target, the bottom lens
4:45
will zoom in and track it. The bottom Pantil camera does 355 degrees of panning, 50 degrees of tilting
4:54
You're not going to miss the bad guys in that shot. It is expected to be released in the U.S. this fall, priced at $200 to $250
5:03
Cameras like this typically cost a lot more, so the $200 to $250 price point is pretty reasonable for this
5:10
This is banned in the U.S. This is the DJI Osmo 362
5:16
It's a 360 camera. You can see it has two lenses, one on each side
5:21
The second gen model is better because you can replace these lenses
5:27
Now, you see how they kind of bulge out? These are very susceptible to scratching This is a problem on 360 cameras With this second gen model you can replace these lens covers so you can still use the product After you purchase it
5:41
you can fix it basically. But the U.S., you're not going to be able to get this. Apparently
5:47
it's a national security threat. The first gen Osmo 360 is still available in the U.S. for about
5:52
$550. But this is the latest generation of an incredibly powerful tool for creators. And it's
6:00
a real shame that it's not available in the US. This is the anti-gravity A1 drone. And this is
6:05
one of the few drones that you can get in the US. Anything DJI that is new is not allowed anymore
6:12
There are still some models for sale that were pre-approved before the ban. But this one is still
6:18
available and some DJI models are as well. Be honest. Do you floss? Dyson said that nine out of
6:25
10 people do not floss as much as they should. So it invented a toothbrush to fix that. The Dyson
6:32
camera jet, as its name suggests, has a camera on the tip right beneath the bristles. So as you
6:38
move it over your teeth, the camera detects the small gaps in between your teeth. When it detects
6:47
that gap, it will spray what Dyson calls a conical, which is a cone-shaped spray of water
6:54
It's basically a water pick, but it's automatic. For $500, that's insane, but I think it's worth it
7:03
For better oral hygiene, come on. The cost of dental work is crazy. You can avoid a cavity or
7:10
a root c. $500 is probably well worth it. So what did you see here that you want to come to the
7:16
U.S.? What are you planning to buy? Let me know in the comments below and check out the description
