Almost 30 years after his death, Tupac Shakur’s stepbrother has filed a wrongful death lawsuit seeking further details about the murder. Maurice Shakur’s attorneys claim there was a “complex conspiracy to murder Tupac that involved much more than mere retaliation for a prior altercation.” They claim that while many of those involved have died or remain unidentified, others who participated in Tupac’s murder were never held accountable. In a separate case, Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, who was arrested in 2023 for the murder, is awaiting trial in August in the ongoing criminal case. Prosecutors believe that Davis was driving the white Cadillac that pulled alongside Shakur’s car near the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and may have ordered the fatal gunshots. The wrongful death suit cites grand jury testimony and the Netflix documentary ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning,’ alleging Combs offered Davis $1 million for the murder, which he has denied. The filing also seeks information on 99 unnamed co-conspirators, stating that “the identities of additional individuals who may have participated… remain unknown.”
