Brad Pitt has opened up about experiencing suicidal thoughts while dealing with ongoing family issues. In an interview with Esquire, Pitt recalled feeling like there was no way out, "I just couldn’t — just didn’t see a way out.” He said the pain became so overwhelming that he could “feel the cold steel of the bullet in my head,” which he described as feeling “like relief.” He did not provide details about what led to the difficult period, only confirming that it was related to his family. Pitt has been caught up in a legal battle with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie following a September 2016 incident aboard a flight with their six children. Jolie alleged in court documents that Pitt, who was allegedly intoxicated, became verbally and physically aggressive toward her and their children. Pitt, who quit drinking after the incident, told Esquire that he has since fallen “off the wagon” after seven years of sobriety and now drinks “in a more restrained manner.”
