We are embarking on an exciting new journey, inspired by Paul's first letter to the Thessalonian church. This young congregation was established during Paul's brief stay in Thessalonica, Greece, where he spent only three Sabbaths. Facing persecution from local Judaizers, Paul had to leave Thessalonica hastily, entrusting Timothy and Silas to support and encourage the fledgling church. Paul wrote two letters to the Thessalonians to reassure them of his continued commitment and to dispel any doubts about his apostleship, as some detractors were spreading rumors that he was merely preaching for financial gain. Recognizing the vulnerability of this nascent church, Paul sought to ensure that they remained steadfast in their faith and did not revert back to their former pagan practices. Throughout these letters, Paul addresses numerous subtopics related to how believers should conduct themselves, making his teachings highly relevant to our contemporary world.

he entrusted the young congregation to

encourage them because they were a young

Church they were a relatively young

church and Paul every time he went to a

city he went to synagogue first and then

when he preached in the synagogues some

of the local judaizers didn't want to

hear Paul but the scripture tells us

that there were a few Greeks there that

actually wanted to listen to to the word

of God and God had opened their heart to

listen to the word of God now the

Thessalonians were one of those people

so Paul established that church when he

had to leave because of the impending

persecution so he wrote on two letters

to the Thessalonians to reassure them of

because some people were saying that

care about them he deserted them and

some people also accused Paul of

preaching the gospel for financial gain

people that were doing that they claimed

to be religious but it was solely for

monetary reasons so they told people

what they wanted to hear and then people

started spreading rumors about Paul that

this is why he left them so hastily

to write this letter she's gonna dispel

reminds these Believers that this is a

church has divine origins it's not a

church built for man it's not a church

of man but this is a church in God the

father and the Lord Jesus Christ

in the book of Hebrews that God is the

they have their origin and their

foundation in God himself so this is

third thing is steadfastness of Hope in

coming of Christ they weren't just

stagnant in their faith they weren't

just stagnant and they're sitting there

and doing nothing because their faith

an extension of of God's divine

intervention in their life and then it

was capped by their steadfastness of

Hope in the Lord Jesus Christ because

they were looking forward to the coming

Salvation faith hope and love those

three things when they are present in a

Christian Life in a man's life then you

gratitude and admiration for the

Thessalonian church and that can be seen

his prayers he probably went before God

because their faith is at work because

their faith is producing fruit and the

labor that they're exuding is is coming

Discerning whether somebody is truly

didn't just preached the word and just

it there was conviction there was power

the Holy Spirit was at work in Paul's

this is why Paul said we know brothers

God empowers the preaching of the Gospel

by Paul as he gives evidence by the

power of the Holy Spirit present in

their lives so he gives them boldness

that and they are being encouraged in

the midst of their own Affliction their

also feel the joy of the Holy Spirit and

now they are also becoming an example to

other people and the chief Shepherd gets

the glory because Jesus is the focus of

all these things see there's a scripture

that says leave such good lives among

the pagans that they might see your good

deeds and glorify your father who's in

heaven that's kind of what's going on in

this case with the Thessalonians they

are such an example okay remember they

were a young Church

so they defied the status quo so people

could have been like well they're a

young Church they're gonna fall this is

just temporary they're just being

excited and they just heard the word and

they are kind of excited but that's

gonna fade out it didn't happen because

God was behind it this is why Paul said

something things work they are not going

because the spirit of God is in their

not come from the strength of man or

Thessalonian church for the impact

they've had on the congregations like

other congregations they are not just

being local now everybody is talking

thriving under severe persecution and

power and a demonstration of the Holy

because I see the work of God in your

midst I see that your your faith is

bearing fruit I see that your labor is

inspired by love and I also see that you

have this hope looking forward to the

so because despite the fact that they

were inexperienced and youth and

Youthful the Thessalonians embraced on

the spirit's guidance and became a

Cornerstone Church influencing others as

news spread about the grace of God

abandoned idolatry they're abandoned
