Labour politician recounts tales of abuse when she was an MP

A former MP says threats aimed at politicians should come with harsher sentences and has called on police to take the safety of politicians "more seriously." Henry Riley is joined by LBC's Yorkshire Correspondent Alex Taylor-Brown who sat down with Paula Sherriff, who served as the Labour MP for Dewsbury from 2015 to 2019. Sherriff discusses abuse she received whilst serving as an MP and how the police's response differed with each case. In July, former Conservative Minister and Reform Uk spokesperson Ann Widdecombe was killed at her home in Devon. She'd been hit on the head with a hammer 21 times. 28 year old Joshua Kerry from Rotherham was charged with her murder.
