How Buddhism Complements CBT

However, I also listed a few limitations of CBT:
Doesn’t work with your body
No spiritual perspective incorporated
It’s ok for there to be limitations. I’ve always said CBT is a great place to start and then you graduate to Intuitive Eating which is more nuanced and subtle.
But, at some point now or later, you should hear about other approaches to working with your thoughts and emotions too!
One such approach is called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT for short.
When I studied ACT in graduate school, I was deeply reminded of the ancient Buddhist principles I learned while living as a Zen Monk.
There are two concepts from Buddhism that correlate really well with ACT:
Life is suffering
