154 Years Missing: How We Finally Identified SS The Greek

She vanished in 1869 with 23 crew and was never seen again. In September 2024, three of us from the #darkstar team dropped onto an unknown wreck almost 100 metres deep, midway between Cornwall and Ireland. We found crockery with a logo, the right cargo, the right size and the right location. You would think identification would have been easy. It wasn’t. The breakthrough finally came from an old newspaper report, allowing us to put a name to the wreck after 154 years.
