Bansi rava is made from Bansi wheat. It is slightly bigger in size than bombay rava/sooji. Bansi rava also needs more water and time to cook soft, compared to sooji. I feel, Bansi rava upma is tastier than bombay rava upma.

How to make bansi rava Upma

Bansi rava - 1 cup
Onion - 1 /2 cup chopped
Tomato – ½ cup chopped
Green chilli - 2 -3 chopped or paste 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Water – 3 to 3 1/2 cups
Salt – 1 ½ tsp or as needed
Sugar – 1 tsp

Cooking oil - 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
