Being bored is when you really notice
0:04
some of the small beauties in life.
0:07
Yeah. So water
0:10
comes out.
0:12
>> The faucet is liquid. If you freeze it,
0:16
>> it becomes solid. I'm pretending my
0:18
husband reels while he's literally
0:21
trying to conduct a work meeting. And
0:23
here I am. So freezing is when liquid
0:26
changes to solid. Melting is when solid
0:28
turns to liquid. There's definitely
0:30
going to be days where you just have to
0:32
let the Lord handle your spouse. So
0:35
important that would be intentional in
0:38
not just motherhood but in our marriage
0:40
as well. Or you just be like, "Lord,
0:42
this is your child. You have at it."
0:50
I was a first time mom. I didn't have it
0:52
all figured out, you guys. I was in the
0:54
trenches. Why does my baby girl need
0:56
pockets? I don't know. To keep her
0:57
little snacks in there, maybe. but it's
0:59
so stinking cute. So, I said all of that
1:02
to say be bored.
1:04
>> Today is a pretty calm and quiet day.
1:08
Um, right now I'm the only one up. The
1:09
kids haven't gotten up yet. My husband
1:11
just left out to get, I think, coffee or
1:14
tea. And it's super quiet here. It is so
1:21
so quiet. I almost don't know what to do
1:23
with myself. Of course, we're going to
1:24
be doing some home school today. It's
1:26
just so interesting because living up
1:29
north where you go through all of the
1:31
seasons and all of the leaves fall off
1:36
the trees, everything just withers away
1:39
and it's so cold that everybody stays
1:41
inside of their home. It's super quiet.
1:45
It's truly a season of rest. And if you
1:49
can figure out how to, you can really
1:52
utilize that season of rest. It's like
1:55
it forces you almost to rest. And having
1:57
also lived in Florida or currently now
2:02
part-time being a Florida resident. So
2:04
down south is different, especially
2:06
living in a tourist city where all year
2:08
long you hear people outside like
2:10
tending to their yards all year long.
2:13
You're going to see people outside
2:15
because the weather is so beautiful that
2:17
people want to go out. I look out the
2:19
window here and I don't see anybody
2:21
unless they're running out to get their
2:22
mill and running back in and as soon as
2:25
I wake up when we are down south, it's
2:27
somebody outside either cannonballing in
2:30
the pool or on a golf cart just walking
2:33
around. Even I like to go out every
2:35
single day and take daily walks. Here
2:38
today we have 67°
2:41
so I think I'm going to go out and try
2:44
to enjoy some of this weather. But right
2:45
now, I'm going to first try to enjoy my
2:47
tea. I'm going to read my book and I'm
2:50
going to try to do my nails because they
2:51
look pretty bad. So, I'll show you guys
2:53
how I do that and I'm going to just try
2:55
my best because I don't know what time
2:59
baby girl is going to wake up my
3:01
daughter. If you're new here, I have a
3:03
one-year-old and a six-year-old. My
3:05
six-year-old is going to be seven in two
3:07
weeks, which is really cool, but also
3:11
just bittersweet.
3:14
um my first baby. I just it's just it's
3:17
so hard. Nobody warned me for this. But
3:20
he's amazing. We love him so much. But
3:23
I'm happy that you are here with me
3:24
today. You guys, I did a poll on
3:27
YouTube. We're going to test this theory
3:29
out. The question was, "What type of
3:31
content do you enjoy most on YouTube?"
3:34
If this is your first time hearing this
3:36
question, I would love for you to
3:37
comment below and give me your feedback.
3:38
I've been doing like sitdown series and
3:41
then I've been doing like cleaning. um
3:44
videos. I've been doing like slow resets
3:47
and I kind of had kind of gotten away
3:49
from vlogging as much as I did when I
3:51
first started this channel, even though
3:53
that was definitely my first love. But,
3:56
you know, I was like, nobody cares.
3:58
Nobody wants to see you just walking
4:00
around just doing stuff, living your
4:02
life. You know, everybody wants
4:05
something helpful. But what I forgot is
4:08
that the reason I started my YouTube
4:10
channel was because when I used to see
4:11
those vlogs, they were extremely helpful
4:14
for me as a firsttime mom. They would
4:15
really honestly get me through the day
4:17
sometimes. It was almost to the point
4:19
where I had to pray because I felt like
4:21
I was almost like idolizing some of my
4:25
favorite YouTubers because on a very
4:28
difficult day for myself, I would just
4:31
turn on those vlogs and it would just
4:33
get me through. And then even before we
4:36
became part of Florida residents, during
4:38
like a very gloomy like winter day where
4:42
I wanted to be in Florida, I would turn
4:43
on my favorite Florida vloggers or
4:45
Disney vloggers. And I don't know, it
4:47
just would kind of just lift up my
4:49
spirits. And so based on the poll
4:53
results, at least 50% of those who voted
4:57
voted for lifestyle vlogs. I'm going to
4:58
test out that theory. And I hope that
5:01
this channel can be a motivation for you
5:04
guys and inspiration. No matter what
5:06
type of content that I post, that's
5:07
always always my goal. But hopefully,
5:10
you know, when I begin doing more
5:13
lifestyle vlogs, it too can be
5:17
the I don't know if you guys can hear
5:19
that the neighbor had some car trouble,
5:21
so it was like a vehicle. Whatever. Anyh
5:24
who, so yeah. I hope I hope that this
5:27
can just be like relatable and just a
5:29
way for you to see that there are other
5:32
people in your season of life as well.
5:34
There are other people who if maybe
5:35
you're not currently in the same season
5:37
at one point you were in the same season
5:40
and just to see someone else in the same
5:43
walk of life as you or someone who was
5:45
there with you and they got you know
5:47
through a difficult season it can be
5:49
very motivational. Um, and I know that I
5:53
really do have a love for that. So
5:56
hopefully I can continue to reach more
5:58
people and really truly inspire and
6:00
motivate people in that way. I know like
6:02
I feel like already this intro is very
6:05
long- winded and typically when I do
6:07
these vlogs, I feel like I need to be
6:09
super duper productive to be helpful,
6:12
but I'm learning that that is not always
6:14
the case. I've been truly loving turning
6:16
on like sitdown vlogs in the shower. I
6:20
just turned it on, light a candle.
6:21
There's a bright, bright window behind
6:23
me, and it is truly relaxing in a very
6:27
busy day, which is interesting, you
6:30
guys. So, in Florida, I find myself
6:34
really loving slow walks, just sitting
6:38
in nature,
6:40
um, watching waterfalls, sitting next to
6:42
a waterfall, reading a book, sitting
6:44
poolside, reading a book. I really have
6:46
been enjoying my tea time, my quiet
6:48
time. I have been enjoying the slow
6:52
podcasts and then here in Michigan where
6:55
you have these naturally slow seasons, I
6:58
kind of want to do something like I want
7:00
to see a very fun and exciting
7:05
um like vlog and I want to hear a little
7:08
bit more of an upbeat type of music when
7:12
I'm cleaning and I I it's so weird,
7:16
right? So, it's like the grass is always
7:18
greener on the other side, I guess. But
7:20
no, let me know if you can resonate with
7:23
this. Like, let me know your favorite
7:25
type of vlogs, but also in a very slow
7:28
season, what's some of your favorite
7:30
things to your favorite hobbies? And
7:32
then in a not so slow season or maybe in
7:35
the middle of the summer, what do you
7:38
enjoy doing? I like to garden so much.
7:41
Um, we can only do it here and in the
7:43
summertime. But yeah, let me know what
7:46
it is that you guys love to do. But
7:49
nevertheless, I still have my tea no
7:50
matter where I am at. I actually have
7:53
the same exact tea kettle here that I
7:55
have in Florida, my Chefman kettle. It's
7:57
like $19 and it is a true trooper. I
8:00
love it. And then I just have some
8:02
vanilla tea. It tastes like it's vanilla
8:05
and caramel and it really does taste so
8:08
smooth and amazing. So, that's what I'm
8:10
going to drink today. And I'm going to
8:11
read and I'm going to do my nails. By
8:14
the way, this is the book I'm reading.
8:15
It's called $1 Million Dollar. My
8:18
husband just gifted me this book
8:19
yesterday and I'm already a little more
8:20
than halfway through it because I really
8:22
love reading. Um, and so basically, it
8:25
just gives you some tools, some more
8:28
knowledge and resources to like launch a
8:30
business in a weekend. Now, I already
8:32
have a business and it's been
8:33
established for a few years now, but
8:35
I've been trying to pivot, but I'm also
8:36
getting ready to launch a brand new
8:39
product. If you didn't know that I have
8:41
a business, which I did take a small
8:43
break from before I realized like it is
8:45
another one of just those things that I
8:47
just love. It's homeheritage.com.
8:50
My husband is currently working on
8:52
building me a brand new website. I'm
8:54
really excited. He wouldn't let me get a
8:55
sneak peek, but I would love for you
8:57
guys to check it out. Everything is just
8:59
natural, clean, organic skin care. I
9:02
also have some hair care stuff. Like I
9:04
actually used to do hair. I went to
9:05
cosmetology school, you guys. I got a
9:07
parallegal degree, a cosmetology
9:09
license. I got all the things. But uh
9:12
yeah, now I'm reading this to kind of
9:15
just give the product that I'm getting
9:17
ready to launch a nice good start. Um
9:21
it's a really good book by Noah Kagan.
9:23
So, reading this book, I love finishing
9:27
a book. Um, especially I used to like
9:29
just dibble and dabble in a few
9:31
different books, but now I like to read
9:34
one book all the way through before I
9:36
start a new one. It's been here for two
9:38
weeks now and I finished two books that
9:40
I started in Florida and then I read one
9:43
book completely through one morning and
9:45
I couldn't sleep and then I went back to
9:47
sleep and then I started this book
9:49
yesterday. It's only like 200 pages and
9:52
I think I have like maybe 80 more to go.
9:54
So, I'm going to read that while my
9:56
nails are curing inside of like the UV
9:59
lamp. And I'm just going to do a poly
10:01
gel nail thingy mamajiggy. I think I
10:04
don't know what you call it. But you
10:05
guys will see when I'm done cuz I can't
10:07
find thing that I can sit my camera on.
10:09
It's upstairs in the room with my
10:11
daughter and I just can't risk it. If I
10:15
wake her up, these nails are not getting
10:17
done. So, I'm gonna have to show you
10:18
guys the finished product when I am
10:20
done.
10:59
Talk a little bit about solids versus
11:04
say solids.
11:05
>> Salads
11:05
>> keep their shape.
11:08
>> Keep their shape.
11:09
>> Mhm. Solids keep their shape. Water can
11:13
be liquid or solid.
11:19
>> Yep. SO WATER
11:22
comes out the faucet is liquid. Freeze
11:25
it.
11:27
>> It becomes solid. Melting is when a
11:31
solid turns into hot. A liquid.
11:35
It happens when it's very warm. So
11:38
freezing is when liquid changes to
11:40
solid. Melting is when solid turns to
11:43
liquid. So circle things over here
11:45
that's going to freeze. That would
11:47
freeze.
11:49
>> Again, freezing is when a liquid can
11:51
turn into a solid when it's very cold.
11:52
And then over here, circle things
11:57
that can melt. Things that can turn into
12:00
a liquid when it gets hot. You want to
12:02
melt.
12:06
All right. Here we go. It's 400 p.m.
12:08
What was 30 minutes ago? How many
12:10
minutes are in an hour? Six.
12:13
>> What is half of that?
12:16
>> 30.
12:17
>> 30. So, what is a half hour?
12:20
>> 30.
12:21
>> 30. What? 30 minutes.
12:25
Half hour. Correct.
12:27
>> Good.
12:27
>> So, it's 4:00.
12:30
What time was it 30 minutes ago?
12:38
cup.
12:40
You want some?
12:43
>> No.
12:48
>> So, we got some school done today and
12:51
the kids actually woke up when I began
12:55
doing my nails. Like, I hadn't even
12:56
gotten one nail done before the kids got
12:58
up. So, I just ended up putting them at
13:00
the table and feeding them because it
13:03
always gives me some time as well. So,
13:06
if you are a mom and sometimes you are
13:08
wondering when you can squeeze in those
13:10
little breaks, one thing I like to do
13:12
sometimes is utilize meal time.
13:15
Specifically like breakfast and lunch,
13:16
dinner time we all do together. But with
13:20
breakfast and lunch, I can typically put
13:22
the kids together and put them at the
13:25
table and they'll be occupied for some
13:27
time while I can get some things done.
13:29
So, that's what I did. They turned out
13:31
pretty nice. I am satisfied with how
13:34
they turned out. It's very simple, just
13:36
like a light pink color, very basic. I'm
13:39
going to take some time to put her down
13:41
for her nap. She's ready for her
13:44
bedtime. My husband has a work meeting
13:46
downstairs. So, I'm pretty much keeping
13:49
the kids upstairs because he's working
13:51
on the main level in our like front room
13:54
while we are renovating our basement
13:56
currently. So, yeah, I'm going to have
13:59
to keep the kids quiet. So, I'm going to
14:01
do that. Put her down for her nap. Um,
14:04
read a bit more. And she's on the move.
14:07
I don't know where she's going, but at
14:10
least I was able to get my nails done.
14:12
It's actually my anniversary today, too.
14:15
So, my husband surprised me with a
14:17
bouquet of flowers, which is nice. So,
14:19
it's not our wedding anniversary. It's
14:21
like the day that we began dating, like
14:23
became boyfriend and girlfriend. So, we
14:24
started dating March 30th, 2011,
14:28
15 years ago. Um, and I always think
14:31
he's just going to forget it because
14:32
like it's not our actual wedding
14:34
anniversary. Our wedding anniversary is
14:36
July 10th. We will be married 10 years
14:39
this year. We have two anniversaries.
14:42
So, got some beautiful roses that really
14:46
made me happy and all giddy. So, yeah.
14:49
Let me get baby girl down for her nap. I
14:52
love this part of the day. It's raining
14:54
outside. It's so nice and just peaceful.
14:59
Um, I don't know. It's just relaxing
15:02
because the baby is down for her nap. My
15:05
son is in his room playing with toys. I
15:07
would love to say that this is quiet
15:09
time because it's supposed to be, but he
15:11
does not play with his toys quietly all
15:13
the time. And honestly, right now, he's
15:15
not. So, I've got to get some work done
15:18
here at my laptop before I have to wake
15:21
my daughter up so that she doesn't sleep
15:23
the entire day. It's also before my son
15:26
wakes her up. Um, my husband went to the
15:28
store after his meeting. I think he's
15:30
planning to prepare like a big dinner
15:33
for our anniversary, which he's so
15:35
sweet. It's just it's really truly a
15:37
blessing. I never would have thought
15:38
that my high school sweetheart we would
15:40
be where we are today 15 years later. So
15:44
I'm truly truly grateful. And so I'm
15:46
going to make sure that I, you know,
15:49
voice that to him, tell that to him
15:50
today cuz it's so important that we be
15:53
intentional in not just motherhood but
15:55
in our marriage as well. Take care of
15:58
our marriage. You know, doesn't mean
16:01
that everything is always going to be
16:02
perfect because it's just simply not.
16:04
Things are not going to be perfect all
16:05
the time. There's definitely going to be
16:07
days where you just have to let the Lord
16:10
handle your spouse. Or you just be like,
16:12
"Lord, this is your child and I have had
16:15
it up to here with him. You have had
16:18
it." But for the majority of the time, I
16:23
really like my spouse. And my sister
16:25
asked me that. It's such an odd
16:28
question. She was like, "Do you actually
16:29
like him?" Then it's like, yeah, but I'm
16:33
not. Like, then it made me think, you
16:35
know, some people are in a marriage
16:36
because they feel they have a
16:39
responsibility to maintain their
16:41
marriage, which is true for, you know,
16:42
Christian marriages. You know, you can't
16:44
just be like, oh, I'm bored and I want
16:47
out or, oh, well, he's not meeting XYZ
16:53
um need for me, so I want out. You know,
16:57
if your husband is faithful and he's not
16:59
abusive, technically, you take your
17:02
problems to the Lord and you trust in
17:04
him to work it out and that that's it,
17:09
you know. And so, a lot of people are
17:10
living that reality and it's a sad
17:13
reality that I never thought so deeply
17:17
about because yes, my husband and I, we
17:20
disagree. Honestly, my husband and I are
17:22
literally like two different ends of the
17:24
spectrum. We cannot agree on much of
17:28
anything except for when it comes to our
17:31
kids. But everything else, it is really
17:34
insane how completely
17:36
different we are. I'll be like, "Oh, I
17:39
love this color." He'd be like, "Oh,
17:41
absolutely not. I hate that color."
17:42
Like, I wanted white cabinets. He wanted
17:45
navy blue. And that's like how we are
17:47
with everything. I'll be like, "Oh, can
17:49
we try this out?" And he'd be like, "No,
17:51
I really don't want to do that." Like
17:53
it's just it's really nice when we can
17:56
kind of just agree to disagree and that
18:00
is how it goes over you know the course
18:04
of the past 15 years we have learned to
18:07
agree to disagree because we found that
18:09
it is just a part of us that natural you
18:12
know most humans are not going to agree
18:15
on everything but for us it is quite
18:17
particularly true very more often than
18:21
it's not and Having learned that about
18:23
ourselves, we just we expect it now and
18:26
sometimes we laugh about it. And it's
18:28
kind of cute honestly in a way except in
18:30
the moment. In the moment it's
18:31
frustrating cuz it's like here we go
18:32
again. But deeply and honestly when you
18:35
think about it, I really like that guy.
18:39
I really do. And his actions tell that
18:43
he I think he likes me too. I have to
18:45
get some work done. Another really deep
18:48
think because the thing about these
18:50
vlogs are again I'm going to try my best
18:53
to be productive as much as I can. But
18:55
as a minimal and a slow living family,
18:57
there's not a ton that's always going on
18:59
around here. I have, as you can see,
19:01
like a trash bag hanging up here on the
19:03
door. Our trash bin is broken inside our
19:05
cabinet, so we need to put the tracks
19:08
back on it. There are no dishes in my
19:11
sink. I've been loading the dishwasher
19:13
as I go throughout the day and I've been
19:16
really really doing well with my
19:18
nighttime evening clothes downs, making
19:21
sure that I get those dishes in every
19:23
single night. It's been going very very
19:26
great for me. And yeah, it's not a lot
19:30
going on. I did my nails. Um, I read. We
19:35
had such an amazing homeschool day, you
19:38
guys. I thank the Lord for that. I
19:41
prayed about that this morning and we
19:43
had such an amazing homechool day. We
19:44
kicked out some math, some language
19:46
arts, some health and some safety. We
19:48
did a little bit of science where we
19:51
were talking about the difference
19:52
between solids and liquid, freezing and
19:55
melting where we did like such a basic
19:57
simple like things can be so simple like
20:00
we made freeze pops. We took like my
20:03
daughter's old little silicone like um
20:06
molds that she had from when she was a
20:08
baby where we used to like freeze fruit
20:10
for her and where I used to freeze like
20:12
fruits and vegetables, purees, all that
20:15
good stuff to save for later. And
20:18
obviously she's eating salads now. She's
20:20
a year old, almost two. And so we used
20:23
it and we poured juice in it and we made
20:25
freeze pops. We talked about how liquid
20:28
when it is really cold and it becomes a
20:31
solid, we call that freezing. And when
20:34
solids, you know, turn into liquid
20:37
because it's really warm, we call it
20:39
melting. And we made freeze pops out of
20:42
it. And it's just something super basic.
20:46
Um, put my daughter down for a nap and
20:49
read a little bit and really spend some
20:52
time with her. We only have a couple
20:54
more months of breastfeeding left. We've
20:56
been doing this for 21 months. She has
20:59
never taken like milk in a bottle.
21:02
Never. I tried it. She hated it. My son
21:05
at least tolerated it when he was a
21:08
baby. She hated it. I didn't understand.
21:10
I think I went to a mom's night out
21:12
where the drive itself was about 45
21:14
minutes away. Hung out there for about 2
21:16
and 1/2 hours. 45 minutes back. I think
21:18
that was the longest I ever stayed away
21:20
from my daughter while we've been
21:23
breastfeeding in which I did leave milk
21:25
in the freezer. But I remember becoming
21:28
engorged. I remember my husband saying
21:30
like she is not having it with this
21:31
milk. But she was at the age where she
21:35
was able to take like puree so he was
21:37
able to give like applesauce or mushed
21:40
bananas. You know, she wasn't starving
21:42
or anything like that. But the sweetest
21:44
thing happened when I was feeding her um
21:47
today putting her down for her nap. I
21:50
was on my phone um sending my husband
21:53
reals while he's literally trying to
21:56
conduct a work meeting and here I am. I
21:58
just happened to look over and just see
22:00
these big beautiful eyes just staring at
22:03
me forever.
22:06
Just staring at me and it was the
22:08
sweetest thing ever. her. And so I put
22:10
my phone down and I just stared back at
22:12
her until she fell asleep. And again,
22:16
she's almost 2 years old now. She's 21
22:19
months old. And if you don't notice
22:23
these moments, you will miss them. And
22:25
they are only this age, so small for so
22:30
long, and then they're running right
22:32
past you. those small moments of her
22:34
just staring and gazing at me until she
22:37
falls asleep, just like the newborn
22:40
days. You can still just see her little
22:41
eyes getting weary and tired, but the
22:43
entire time she just keeps her focus and
22:46
her gaze on me, and so she just closes
22:48
her eyes, and it's so sweet. I hold her
22:52
a little while, then I go and lay her
22:53
down. And it's the most precious
22:57
way for a baby to fall asleep in their
23:00
mother's arm with a gaze, you know,
23:04
connecting eye contact with each other.
23:06
Um, and to fall asleep, it's the
23:10
sweetest, most precious thing. And I
23:12
know that
23:14
a lot of people are against, you know,
23:16
that a lot of people really would prefer
23:19
sleep training. And I get it. It's
23:21
easier on your shoulders, your back.
23:23
It's easier on your arms. It's easier
23:26
with your time, you know, but I'm a stay
23:28
at home mom and I get to work from home.
23:30
I create content. I don't necessarily
23:32
have to rush. I just don't. And I I have
23:36
that time. I was literally scrolling my
23:37
phone. So, sure, maybe I can save myself
23:40
10 or 15 minutes if I lay her down and
23:43
let her cry it out or let her fall
23:45
asleep or teach her to self soup or
23:48
sleep train. But to be honest, I can't
23:51
think of anything else that I would
23:54
rather had been doing in that time
23:56
frame. Um, me scrolling my phone was
23:59
literally a distraction out of, I guess,
24:02
boredom. Being bored is when you really
24:06
notice
24:07
some of the small beauties in life. So,
24:11
I said all that to say, be bored.
24:14
Embrace boredom, especially especially
24:17
in motherhood. I talk a lot on this
24:20
channel about like slow living and just
24:22
slowing down and being intentional. And
24:24
so one of the ways we can do that is to
24:26
really just savor every moment. Put our
24:29
phones down and notice small things like
24:32
your baby looking up at you.
24:36
You guys just see this grow. It is huge.
24:40
I didn't know what it was because it's
24:42
like black and then the tail is like
24:44
brown and it's as big as a beaver or
24:47
groundhog. We got some fat squirros
24:49
around here in Michigan. It's like
24:52
they're huge. But it was so distract was
24:55
so distracting. It looked like a little
24:57
monster out there. So yeah. Anyh who,
25:00
I'm going to I'm going to work on
25:02
editing this here video. I have some
25:05
spring decor to get up for you guys. So
25:07
I'm going to go do that now.
26:32
Last night was such an oddly long night.
26:35
I don't know how or why, but it was such
26:37
a long night, but in a good way. My
26:40
husband was originally going to cook
26:41
dinner, but again, I told you guys he
26:44
wasn't feeling well, so I told him he
26:45
didn't have to do that. Um, I was happy
26:48
to cook, but it being our anniversary, I
26:51
guess he just wanted to do something
26:52
really, really sweet. And we had a long
26:55
talk yesterday, and he was just talking
26:56
about how he just felt it so important
26:58
that we,
27:01
um, just don't take like even the
27:03
smaller anniversary e that we have, like
27:06
when we started dating, um, the day we
27:08
first said I love you, just little
27:10
things that we just don't take it for
27:12
granted. and we had a nice talk. So, he
27:15
went and got dinner and brought it home.
27:17
So, he didn't cook, but I thought that I
27:20
would be able to like work out and
27:23
everything after I put my daughter down
27:26
for her nap. I thought I'd be able to
27:28
get in a workout cuz that's typically
27:30
what I do. But what happened actually
27:33
instead is that my husband came back for
27:36
dinner and we ate immediately. So, I
27:39
literally showered and then ate. And
27:40
then after sitting here for about 2 and
27:42
1/2 hours, sorry if you guys hear like
27:44
the water draining. We have a filtration
27:47
system and it's a little bit noisy
27:49
sometimes, but I ended up working out
27:53
super duper late. It was like 11:30 at
27:54
night after we laid the kids to bed and
27:56
everything. We had dinner and everything
27:58
and I went to go work out and then
28:00
showered again and I had such a really
28:02
really good workout. Maybe one day I'll
28:03
do a video for that. Um, normally I work
28:06
out like in the dark with a very dim
28:08
light with like a podcast or some music
28:12
and I'm normally wearing like workout
28:14
clothes, which it's either like kind of
28:17
tight or very skimpy, I guess. Like I'll
28:20
just be wearing like a sports bra or
28:22
something and like some shorts because I
28:24
get hot. And so yeah, I don't film it
28:27
because of that reason. Maybe one day
28:30
I'll put on something more appropriate
28:32
and just show you guys what my little
28:33
stay at home mom workout looks like.
28:35
Yesterday we was watching American Ninja
28:37
Warrior. And then we had a glass of wine
28:39
and we went to sleep. That was pretty
28:41
much our anniversary. And um today got
28:44
up, did a lot of cleaning and then fed
28:49
the kids. Did homeschool. My daughter is
28:52
also not feeling well today because my
28:54
husband, she loves to be up under him.
28:56
So naturally she's not feeling well.
28:58
Hopefully me and my husband stay me and
29:01
my son stays healthy, especially with
29:03
Easter coming up and then his birthday
29:05
being a week after and we're going to
29:07
have like a little get together here at
29:08
the house. So, we have a new I think
29:12
it's Casori air fryer that I wanted to
29:16
unbox and open. Never tried it before.
29:18
Maybe I'll try it later or tomorrow. But
29:20
this is the brand of it. Um my husband
29:23
found this one, so hopefully it's pretty
29:26
good. And I am prepping a little bit of
29:31
dinner for the kids to eat. My husband
29:34
just went out to a Piston game. He I
29:37
think it's the Pistons and the Raptors
29:38
are playing today. He's going to take me
29:40
and the kids. Um, he had four tickets,
29:43
but my daughter is not feeling well and
29:47
we have like a bit of a later start with
29:50
homeschool today and then tomorrow my
29:53
husband wants to go see the Mario movie
29:55
that's coming out. So, I just decided
29:58
to, you know, stay home with my daughter
30:00
since she's just not up for it and my
30:02
husband could really use some kid free
30:05
time, he said, which I get it. So,
30:09
he took some of his friends with the
30:11
extra three tickets and me and the kids
30:13
stayed back and depending on how my
30:15
daughter is feeling tomorrow, maybe
30:16
we'll go see the Mario movie and if
30:18
she's still not great, then just my
30:20
husband and son are going to go see that
30:21
movie tomorrow. So, yeah, a bit of a
30:24
busy day. We're just trying our best to
30:28
see, you know, all our friends and
30:30
family while we are in town, as well as
30:33
do home maintenance. We're renovating
30:35
the basement. The basement is where our
30:36
home gym is. my husband's office and the
30:38
laundry room. So, we're currently
30:39
renovating all of that. Um, basically
30:42
like home maintenance, but basement
30:44
renovation really isn't a renovation,
30:46
like taking down walls, ceilings,
30:48
different things like that. We did like
30:50
replace like the floors, repainted,
30:52
things like that when we moved in, but
30:54
we've never done like a full renovation.
30:55
I don't think we've done any like
30:57
renovation product projects here. We've
30:59
done like resurfacing, repainting,
31:01
putting down new floors. But we've never
31:04
like tore anything down and just redid
31:06
it, which is just one of the fun things
31:08
that comes with being a homeowner. So,
31:10
doing what we can. We're going to be
31:11
here for a while before we go back to
31:14
Florida. We just try to keep everything
31:16
nice and tidy and do our best so that
31:19
once we're away and then our home
31:21
maintenance person, like basically the
31:22
person that comes maintains our home
31:24
when we're away, they will have smooth
31:27
selling easy job, you know, and upkeep
31:30
and things like that. I think this food
31:32
is done. I finished early because my
31:34
husband, he still wanted to prepare the
31:37
steaks that he was going to make
31:38
yesterday. But with the last minute
31:39
finding out that he was going to go to
31:41
the basketball game, he couldn't do
31:44
that. So, I made a really quick dinner
31:46
because this isn't what we were going to
31:47
have. We're going to have like steak and
31:49
potatoes, but steak and potatoes is
31:51
going to wait till tomorrow now, I
31:52
assume. And then just made some pasta
31:55
cuz it's just me and the kids. And the
31:57
basketball game that they're going to,
31:59
it's inside of like a I forget what you
32:01
call it, but like a box uh I forget what
32:04
you call where you get your own like
32:06
little seating area. And then up there,
32:08
they also have like lots of different
32:10
foods, appetizers, desserts. Really
32:13
cool. All included with that experience.
32:16
So, he's going to eat a ton while he's
32:18
out. So, me and the kids are going to
32:20
work on this. I did get some cleaning
32:21
and tidying done. I let the robot vacuum
32:24
do some for me as well. It wasn't too
32:26
much to do. I try to keep the sink nice
32:28
and clear, keep the dishwasher loaded
32:31
through the day and things like that.
32:32
So, I don't have a ton of a lot to do.
32:33
It's really rainy today. But, I wanted
32:35
to show you guys because
32:38
I accidentally got the kids two Easter
32:41
baskets because the Easter basket that I
32:44
had originally got the kids in Florida,
32:46
I got before I knew we were going to be
32:48
spending Easter in Michigan. So then I
32:51
packed everything up one day before our
32:54
flight and I put it in the mail to be
32:57
sent out here so that it could be
33:00
shipped here. But because I have all of
33:02
our mail being forwarded to our Florida
33:06
address, it was literally like a mixup.
33:08
Like at one point I saw that it was in
33:09
Indiana, which is just 4 hours out from
33:11
Michigan, and then it ended up back in
33:14
Florida, the Florida post office, which
33:17
made zero sense. And then it occurred to
33:19
me that they were forwarding it, like
33:20
they got confused, I guess. And it
33:22
shipped from Florida to Indiana and then
33:24
back to Florida. And I think that it was
33:26
going to go back to our Florida
33:28
apartment. So then I contacted them and
33:31
asked them not to forward it, please,
33:33
and to ship it to the original
33:35
destination in Michigan. And luckily, it
33:39
we've been here for two weeks. It just
33:41
arrived today. And I'm just grateful.
33:43
But I panicked because I was for sure
33:46
that it was going to be going to Florida
33:48
and I literally got the kids like some
33:50
small little last minute baskets. Like
33:53
I'll show you guys like got whole new
33:56
basket. So maybe I'll show you guys like
33:58
kind of what's in here really quick. So
34:03
here's another basket. I'm trying to get
34:07
It's super dark in here. It's like
34:09
raining outside. So there's that. But
34:11
here we go. This is literally the cutest
34:13
little bingo Easter egg stuffy. It's a
34:16
little bunny ears. So, this is inside of
34:18
my daughter's basket as well as a bingo
34:20
blue cup. And then this one I thought
34:24
was super cute. I don't know what the
34:26
batteries are for. I'm assuming it makes
34:28
music, but you, you know, you kind of
34:30
just press those in. Oh, and then you
34:33
pop it back out. But yeah, I don't know
34:34
what the sound is, but it has like
34:36
little buttons, so it does make sounds.
34:38
We'll have to put some batteries in it,
34:39
I guess. But this is just something
34:41
super
34:42
I don't know to keep her busy I guess.
34:44
But super cute little bunny ears was
34:46
like $5. Um I think this one was also
34:49
just like $5. And then this one needs to
34:53
Does it need batteries? It's cute. This
34:54
is super cute. I think she's going to
34:56
have fun with this. It just like spins
34:58
around. Little bunny bunny head bunny
35:01
Easter egg. Lights up. Spins around. Got
35:04
her this. Just little basic little
35:05
things I guess. And then this is a
35:08
bubble machine, little bunny bubble
35:10
machine. And so yeah, you load the
35:12
bubbles in there and you just turn it on
35:15
and the bubbles come out. So that's
35:17
what's inside of her basket. And I
35:19
wanted to try and find her a couple more
35:21
things, but the basket was getting too
35:22
full. And again, they were going to
35:24
return back to Florida to more Easter
35:26
goodies. So I didn't want to just go
35:29
overboard. This was just like quick
35:31
little I think everything in here except
35:33
for like this was like $5 a piece. The
35:36
basket was even like $125.
35:39
So I got that. And then sons I don't
35:43
think was complete. Maybe it was. I
35:45
don't know. But for my son I found this
35:47
little brick building set. It was also
35:50
maybe like five bucks. And it's just
35:52
super super cute. It's like a little
35:53
Easter bunny with some flowers inside
35:55
the basket and you just little something
35:57
to build a little peep. has 104 pieces.
36:00
So, I'm going to keep him a little busy
36:02
for that day. And then I got him this
36:04
three-piece. He loves Pokemon. So,
36:06
Pokemon chalk for outside because we're
36:09
going to be here for some time. And if
36:12
we get some nice weather, it's been
36:13
either cold or when it's not been cold.
36:16
It's been rainy. But got some chalk that
36:19
he could use while we are here. We can't
36:21
use chalk at our apartment, but here he
36:25
can use his chalk. And then we got the
36:27
Easter egg coloring kit, which comes
36:29
with 32 stickers, four egg stands, six
36:31
different color tablets, and one egg
36:33
dipper. And I think I need to just get
36:36
um I don't think we have any plastic
36:38
cups. I have to see if we have any
36:40
around here. Then if not, I need to get
36:42
some plastic cups to go with that. And
36:44
then he also has one of these, too.
36:48
Then I found this in the garage that I
36:51
saved because we had so many of them.
36:53
So, it's basically a little cute little
36:56
Easter egg
36:59
decorating scene type thing. So, he's
37:01
got like Jesus on there, lots of little
37:04
stickers and things. This is the one he
37:05
made last year. And then I think this is
37:09
the one I made for my daughter. He
37:12
lives.
37:14
Super cute, right? So, I'll let him
37:17
do this again because he still has so
37:21
many of them in here. And then, you
37:23
know, you just put the stickers on
37:25
there. Again, it comes with a ton of
37:28
them. And I remember letting him also
37:29
put some of these stickers on like the
37:32
Easter eggs that he decorated, colored,
37:35
like the Easter eggs he colored. So,
37:38
this I think I got from Amazon last
37:40
year. I'm going to try to find it. It's
37:41
super cute and I'll link it cuz it was
37:43
very inexpensive and it comes with so
37:45
many. Like I say, I pulled this out. We
37:47
still have it. It was in it with my
37:48
Easter decorations cuz I thought about
37:50
decorating here and then I was like no
37:53
not very productive to decorate for I
37:56
don't know a week. So I didn't want to
37:59
give myself extra work for no reason. I
38:02
had got these emergency baskets and a
38:06
couple snack. My son loves doing his egg
38:08
hunt so I ordered these ones here. I
38:12
think it's just 12. You know we're not
38:13
trying to be out there forever. So, 12
38:15
eggs and they're small. Then these
38:17
bigger ones might have like a toy or
38:20
money in there, like a dollar, $2. Found
38:22
these little cheese balls. My daughter
38:25
would love those. And then my son would
38:29
love these little candy. I'm going to
38:31
regret it for sure. These are like the
38:33
little candy dippers that you dip in the
38:35
sugar. And then I got my son the
38:37
Pringles while my daughter has the um
38:41
the cheese puffs. And then I just I've
38:43
literally been eating this, you guys.
38:45
But I just This has like Tootsie Rose,
38:47
Tootsy Roll Pops, fruit chews, and dots.
38:50
And this is the candy that we're going
38:52
to put inside of their eggs. We can't
38:54
put these in there because they're so
38:55
big. So I've literally been snacking on
38:59
these. Two unnecessary baskets and
39:02
terrible candy. I feel awful that now I
39:05
feel like they just have access. I never
39:08
want to just go overboard, but I thought
39:10
I was being like simple and basic with
39:12
these smaller baskets. And it turned out
39:14
that
39:16
this is this is what happened. If I see
39:19
any children before that, maybe we'll
39:21
gift them. I wish I had more
39:24
productivity for you guys, but things
39:27
are just slow slow over here. And um I
39:33
think that that is kind of partly why I
39:37
was I've always craved like being part
39:40
Florida resident because slow is really
39:42
really great and we even do slow living
39:45
back in Florida but there's still always
39:47
that opportunity for us to get up and
39:48
get out enjoy the weather all year long
39:51
and um go to the theme parks which we
39:56
just love to do and try new experiences
39:59
like we go to resorts we've never been
40:01
into. And there's just not many resorts
40:03
in Michigan that you can just be like,
40:05
"Let's go try out this resort. Let's go
40:06
try this new theme park or this new
40:09
attraction." And while we love our
40:12
family here in Michigan in our home,
40:14
it's just not the same. So slow living
40:18
in Michigan is completely different from
40:19
slow living in Florida, where here it
40:22
almost feels inevitable. And in Florida,
40:24
it's like you can do it and still also
40:28
get out and enjoy the scene a little
40:29
bit. So yeah, here is just what do I
40:33
want to call this? A rainy day vlog. My
40:37
vacuum, my robot vacuum. Couldn't get up
40:40
the ledge to return to its dock, so it's
40:42
just hanging out over there. Um, this is
40:45
our family room. I washed some clothes.
40:47
I ordered a little dress for baby girl.
40:49
Two of them. I'll show you guys that, I
40:50
guess. And yeah, it's it's rainy. And my
40:54
neighbor, she has replaced her privacy
40:56
trees three times since we've been here.
40:59
She put those down literally before we
41:01
moved in. She wanted to put the privacy
41:03
trees up, so we put some on the other
41:05
end. And ours are growing and thriving,
41:07
and hers die every single year, which is
41:10
so so sad. Yeah. I got for a little
41:13
girl.
41:15
This dress was literally $3. It's not
41:18
really great. Great. Like, it's soft.
41:20
very soft, but it's definitely not like
41:23
it's not super great quality. But for a
41:27
one day event, Easter, which is just one
41:29
day, she'll be cute. I have no idea what
41:32
the weather is going to be like on
41:33
Easter. So, is she going to be able to
41:34
wear this to church? I'm not sure. But
41:36
it's long enough to wear with tights.
41:38
She'll be fine with a little jacket just
41:40
from the car into the church. Will she
41:42
be hanging out in the nursery center?
41:44
Anyway, um I love that our church has
41:48
child care. I've seen so many videos
41:51
with people saying they go to church and
41:53
they spend the entire service out in the
41:56
lobby with their kids. And it is such a
42:00
blessing that our church here and the
42:02
church that we found in Florida both
42:05
have child care. The church that we got
42:07
married at, we loved the people there.
42:10
Amazing people there. But after I had my
42:13
son, I was a first time mom. I didn't
42:16
have it all figured out, you guys. I was
42:17
in the trenches and I would go to church
42:20
and
42:21
feel like I didn't know what to do. I
42:24
was spending service inside the nursing
42:26
room, which is just a quiet empty room
42:28
where you can go feed your baby or law
42:30
them or quiet them and calm them. So,
42:32
I'm grateful that they had that. But
42:34
from there, you can't hear or see
42:35
anything that's going on in service and
42:37
I would be returning at the end of
42:38
service when it's practically over. And
42:41
when I would go, my baby would start
42:43
crying. I would feel like everybody was
42:45
staring at me. Sometimes I just stayed
42:46
in the back of the church, like still in
42:48
the sanctuary, but in the back, and just
42:51
walked back and forth patting my baby.
42:53
And I feel like the older people in the
42:56
church would be looking at me like, "Oh,
42:57
poor baby." And I even would get
42:59
comments from people where they would be
43:00
like, "Oh my god, you're still
43:02
breastfeeding." My baby would be like 6
43:03
months. And yeah, he was big, hefty. But
43:06
they would be like, "You're still
43:07
breastfeeding that baby?" Cuz they were
43:08
like
43:10
they were older. 7 years ago. I just
43:13
feel like breastfeeding, homeschool,
43:15
everything seven years ago was
43:17
completely different than it is now.
43:19
Things just evolve and change over time.
43:21
But, you know, our baby boomers and even
43:24
my mother, my mother-in-law, she's
43:27
coming around to it. She has strong
43:28
opinions. But I absolutely love her, you
43:31
guys. She always
43:33
tells us how well we're doing with
43:35
homeschool. Even though she used to be
43:37
like, "How long are you planning to
43:39
homeschool?" Don't you is that is that
43:42
legal? But things changed. And so when
43:46
we relocated and we bought our home, we
43:49
prayed to find a church and the church
43:51
that we found have a mom community like
43:54
a little mom group. Um, that has been
43:57
such a blessing in my life to be able to
44:00
just have mom to connect with. Even
44:02
during our mom meetings that we would
44:03
have every other week and then the in
44:07
between weeks we would have a playd date
44:09
and then once a month we would have
44:10
mom's night out where just the moms hang
44:12
out. It was such a blessing um because
44:15
like I didn't have to search for it. I
44:17
didn't have to do a lot. Just attend the
44:18
church and then attend the meetings and
44:20
the groups and you kind of just bond
44:22
with people in a similar walk of life
44:24
with you. They have summer camp and
44:27
every Sunday you walk in there, you drop
44:29
your kids off in their age group,
44:31
nursery, everyone, it's safe. Everybody
44:34
I kind of know because going to the mom
44:37
groups, I know the moms that's working
44:39
in the rooms personally. So, I feel
44:42
really happy about my kid being in there
44:44
because I know the people that's in
44:46
there. It's just a blessing. Um, so if
44:49
you are attending like a church that
44:52
doesn't have that, I understand. I have
44:56
definitely been there before. Finding
44:58
one that had that nursery became just a
45:01
non-negotiable for me. So, when we went
45:03
to Florida, we made sure we found the
45:05
church that had that. I'm a little bit
45:07
still trying to get used to it because
45:09
we've only been there for a shorter
45:11
period of time and sometimes the people
45:13
working in there switches out so often.
45:15
And with it being a tourist area,
45:19
like me, some of the people that's
45:20
there, they're like snowbirds or they're
45:24
popping in and popping out. And so the
45:26
people who your kids are around can just
45:28
change. And they I don't think they have
45:31
like those mom groups, but there's one
45:32
more church. So I want to try. Anywh
45:34
who, it has a nursery and so far the
45:38
kids are doing okay in there. We just
45:40
got to continue to fill it up. But we
45:42
like the church thus far. So there's my
45:45
rant all over an Easter dress. That's
45:48
why that's why I feel like nobody wants
45:50
to see vlogs because it's like I don't
45:53
know. I feel bad just like who cares
45:56
about you and your life, but maybe it
45:59
can be helpful, motivational in some
46:00
type of way for you guys. Um relatable,
46:03
nothing else. So this dress is
46:05
beautiful. It was on sale for $3. I got
46:08
her in this cream color and I got it in
46:10
a red. And you guys, I have a dress that
46:12
looks just like this, so I had to get it
46:14
for her. But it has pockets. Why does my
46:18
baby girl need pockets? I don't know. To
46:20
keep her little snacks in there, maybe.
46:22
But it's so stinking cute. And pretty.
46:25
She needed something to have here during
46:28
this cool weather. So, I got her these.
46:32
I got her this one in red and a couple
46:34
other little things. Guys, I'm going to
46:36
feed my children. I have to wake my
46:39
daughter up. She'll nap the whole entire
46:42
day and wake up and want to party at
46:44
night and I can't have that. So, I'm
46:46
going to wake her up so that I can feed
46:49
the children and then once my food
46:51
digest a little bit earlier today um
46:55
I can get in a good workout and um my
46:59
phone is dead so I should charge that
47:01
cuz soon my husband's going to be
47:03
telling me that he hasn't made it. So,
47:05
yeah, I should probably wrap things up
47:07
here. But listen, I really enjoy hanging
47:09
out with you guys. I feel like you guys
47:11
are my friends and especially those of
47:14
you who had been here from the
47:16
beginning. I've been doing this for I
47:18
think almost 3 years now, maybe 3 years.
47:21
I don't know. I feel like you guys are
47:23
my friends and I enjoy hanging out with
47:25
you guys. So, I hope that you guys
47:27
enjoyed hanging out with me as well. And
47:28
I will see you guys in the next vlog.
47:30
Bye.
