Tony, over to you now. Who do you have your eyes on at 15th overall? And same thing with Evan
0:05
maybe give us an idea of why you're looking at these players. Yeah, it's funny. We mentioned the variability with the Red Wings picking 15. So they're, I guess
0:14
kind of looking at five different players that could be available here, just given
0:19
you know, what could happen. You know, Beckett Seneke, number one, I'll come back to him
0:26
There's a pretty decent chance that Cole Iseman falls to number 15. His offense is
0:34
undeniable. And the Red Wings need goals, whether it's now in the NHL or their prospect pipeline
0:43
they need goals. And Iseman can do that. It's his number one trait. He can score. He can score
0:51
with the best of them. But obviously, there are some traits that need a little bit of work
0:58
as with most draft prospects. There's also a couple of Steve Iseman-esque players that I
1:10
would not be surprised if they were the number 15 pick. First is Jet Lachanko. Again, high motor
1:17
high energy, offense. Most are expecting him to go a little later in the draft. But then again
1:24
that hasn't stopped Iseman in the past. Another is Stian Solberg, the defenseman
1:31
I've seen comparisons to Mort Sider and how he rocketed up the draft boards late in the year
1:37
A very physical defenseman, has some offensive capabilities. Again, high energy, high motor
1:43
high compete. Very much an Iseman and Chris Draper pick. The last one is Michael Hage
1:52
Devin, you talked about him a little bit in your last article as a potential target. The last half
1:58
of the year, when he put everything together after going through some adversity, after losing his
2:04
father and just not being able to put together his game completely early on, which is completely
2:15
understandable. Another potential top six player down the road, you can play wing as well
2:24
Incredible offensive talent. Any of these players could be available for the Red Wings
2:30
More than likely that three or four of these players will be available. If it was up to me
2:36
it would be Beckett Senekey. I agree with Evan there. His overall skill set, the hands, the
2:44
vision, decision making, and skating, it's something that fits in with what the Red Wings need in the
2:51
top six. Also, obviously he has some size that he's grown into recently. He's proven that he can
3:00
be successful in the playoffs when the games get a little tougher. What I actually like about the
3:06
recent growth spurt that he's gone through is that you see sometimes players coming out of juniors
3:14
who are 6'4", 6'5", power forward types, they've been much bigger than everyone else their whole
3:20
life. They're reliant on that sort of game, just being able to be physical and just outmatch anyone
3:29
that they're up against. NHL is different. Everyone's that size. If you're not that size
3:36
you can play against that size effectively. Senekey grew up playing like an undersized player
3:43
so he understands how to win battles. He understands how to approach the game as if he
3:50
was 5'10", but he's actually 6'3". When he puts on some more muscle, he'll be able to play
3:59
effectively as a smaller player type and as a power forward type, being a bull in a china shop
4:05
That shows the evolution to his game, where he knows how to evolve with the changes that are
4:16
going on with him, with the players around him. That's something he's going to need in the NHL
4:22
level, and that's a valuable trait to have. From my perspective, at least, he's the top choice if
4:27
he's available
