All right, let's go to a forward
0:01
This is one of my favorites, Tyler Mott. I loved him in Vancouver
0:06
I hated it that they traded him to the Rangers. I would have taken him back as a Canuck on the fourth line
0:12
but he's a Red Wing, which is the second next best thing. So Evan, what do you think about Tyler Mott
0:18
being added to the team? I mean, it's a Christian Fisher, almost 2.0 type player for me
0:24
And those are kind of the guys that you love. You know, I always check on social media
0:28
You check the other teams, the team that came from his reactions about when they signed elsewhere
0:34
You can see that a lot of people were like, you know, a lot of Red Wings fans
0:38
who weren't familiar with Tyler Mott were bashing the signing and this and that
0:41
And then you see the Lightning's reaction about our fans' reaction saying
0:46
hey, you're going to love this guy. This guy is, you know, tooth and nails grit
0:50
This is the kind of players, you know, you need come playoff time, you know
0:54
and he's not going to give you much offensively, but he's going to fight and play that 200 foot game
1:01
that Stevie Y loves and that we all love, that, you know, he's going to fight tooth and nail for us
1:07
And those are the kind of guys you have to have on your bottom six. So I think he'll fit in nice
1:12
probably in a fourth line role, but I like the signing again, low turn, low cost
1:17
And, you know, again, you got to have these kinds of players come playoff time
1:20
So I'm happy with it. Well, you don't have to read a bunch of articles
1:26
when Tyler Mott was with the Canucks, you'll know how much I like him. So I love the signing, great penalty killer
1:35
Has a bit of speed, he can score. I mean, he has, I mean, he doesn't score a lot
1:39
but he's good for six, seven goals per high nine. I mean, if he does get the opportunity, he can score
1:49
It's just the biggest thing he brings is that energy and that great, yeah, two-way game
1:56
to the bottom of the lineup. And you don't have to worry about him when you put him out there, which is great. Devin
2:02
He makes the record better defensively, and that's exactly what they needed in their bottom six
2:06
That's for sure, it's a good signing for me. And also former University of Michigan
2:11
there's an add to that too. How'd I forget that part? It's the most important part
2:16
Had 32 goals in his- Another. Last season there, so. If they can get Kyle Connor now
2:22
they can reunite the CCM line, so. Yeah. And the Confor-Connor and Mott line, so
2:27
Go, Kyle Connor, I'm in. Devin, what do you think about Mott
2:33
See, now, this is that time where I'm on the other end of having everything basically on his side
2:42
Even down to the CCM line, that finally got brought up right at the end. I got you there in the last second, dude
2:47
on a buzzer beater. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I'll just echo everything that's been said
2:53
Bottom six, honestly, fourth line guy that, like you said, Matt, you just don't have to worry about
2:59
as you said, Evan makes the Red Wings better defensively. That's what they, that was kind of a prime
3:04
or a primary objective for them this off season. And he does that
3:10
And also, he's another one of those Michigan boys. He's from St. Clair
3:15
Just another one of those guys that it's easy to cheer for just because he's from Michigan, right
3:18
I'm sure he's very excited to wear a Red Wings uniform
