Devin, would you trade this pick
0:02
Even if they don't really, I mean technically they don't really need to have it
0:09
where they are on the rebuild, but it would be good to still add to that prospect pool
0:14
Now, not necessarily trading it for a player, they could trade up, trade down
0:18
with Cosa, right, you mentioned that. Would you move this pick? I mean, lots of ways to do it, but would you do it
0:30
I'm open to it. I think it depends on a lot of factors, right
0:36
I think the thing I would be most open to, honestly, is trading down, not up, but down
0:43
And that would be based on what the board looks like as it's kind of approaching Detroit's pick
0:50
We talk about how there's going to be a run on defensemen and there might be some forwards
0:54
that are falling and the Rebings might be able to have some just fall in their lap
1:01
That might present an opportunity where they can trade back a few spots
1:05
add additional draft picks or whatever, and then still get a guy
1:13
because there's just enough that have fallen that they're able to pass up on a few of them
1:18
and still get one that you feel really good about. I don't think they need to trade back, I don't think they should trade back super far
1:25
but if the right opportunity is there, I would certainly explore it
1:31
The next thing I would, trading up, I don't think necessarily makes sense
1:36
unless they really love a guy, and if Eisenman really loves a guy, I'm inclined to trust his judgment
1:43
If there's one guy I think that they would trade up for, honestly, it's Shai Bloom's brother
1:49
just to unite them, right? But I think that what it would take to trade up to get him is probably a little too much
1:56
and maybe doesn't make sense, especially considering what Detroit's prospect pool looks like
2:03
So I think that's the least likely thing. But then also, and we're going to talk about this a lot throughout the summer
2:09
the Rebings do have holes to fill and the free agent class is not weak
2:15
but it's also not exactly overflowing with the type of guys the Wings need to go and get
2:20
We talk about how they need to address their goaltending situation. If they're going to get a guy that is going to actually address that need
2:30
they probably need to give up a premium asset to do so. And I think that the 15th pick is one that they can rationalize depending on who they're getting
2:41
So I guess my answer there is I'm open to it under the right circumstance. I think the best situation they can find themselves in is that they don't have to move that pick
2:50
They obviously don't have to move that pick, but they can just be fine with taking whoever's there at 15
2:57
They are going to have a lot of options to them, like we've already said, but they can give themselves even more options by really just exploring the trade market
