Daniel Day, 30, from Essex, was previously found guilty of causing a public nuisance after climbing the landmark barefoot while carrying a Palestinian flag. The incident took place in March last year, when Day scaled part of the landmark and remained on the structure for roughly 17 hours before being brought down by emergency services. Supporters of Day gathered in front of Southwark Crown Court building, carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans saying “Free Palestine.” The Elizabeth Tower, home to one of the most famous clock faces in the world, is a protected site and is closely monitored for security.
