Police said the search began after a man was reported missing when his vehicle was found trapped at a low-lying bridge along the river. During the operation, officers located a crocodile believed to have attacked the missing person. The animal was euthanized and later removed from the river bank in a helicopter-assisted operation. SAPS said human remains were recovered from the crocodile, with DNA tests set to confirm the identity.
