Philippines: Philippine Coast Guard Ship Delivers 200 Tons Of Relief Goods To Earthquake-Hit General Santos City.

Philippines - June 16, 2026 The Philippine Coast Guard carried out a three-day operation to load and transport relief supplies at the Port Area in Manila from June 12 to June 14, 2026, supporting communities affected by a recent earthquake in General Santos City. During the operation, personnel loaded a total of 20,000 family food packs provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development onto a Philippine Coast Guard vessel identified as BRP Corregidor (AE-891). The shipment also included bottled water, hygiene kits, rice, family food packs, and other essential goods. These items came from Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, Senator Erwin Tulfo, Bell-Kenz Pharma Foundation, Inc., FPJ Bayanihan Party List, Nature Spring Foundation, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary units, and other partner organizations. After loading was completed, the vessel departed Pier 13 at the Port Area in Manila on June 15, 2026, carrying the relief goods bound for General Santos City. The mission supports the Philippine Coast Guard’s Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement program, known as iCARE, as well as the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to improve disaster response through the timely delivery of assistance to affected communities.
