Philippines - June 01, 2026 Four bodies were recovered from Sectors 1 and 2 of a collapsed building site in Angeles City as search and rescue operations continued on May 31, 2026. The Philippine Coast Guard, working alongside partner agencies, carried out ongoing search and rescue efforts while recovering the remains during operations at the site. The retrieval came after positive signals were detected by Coast Guard K9 Working Dogs identified as UXO, Travis, and Summit. The dogs provided indications during detailed search and marking work in the affected sectors. All involved agencies continued coordinated efforts at the scene, focusing on maintaining safety while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of recovery and rescue activities. Personnel operating under the Philippine Coast Guard’s Intensified Community, Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement initiative, known as iCARE, remained engaged in support operations. Their work centered on sustaining rescue efforts and assisting in accounting for all individuals connected to the incident. Search and recovery operations at the collapsed building site are still ongoing.
