The coast guard said search and rescue teams were dispatched after receiving a distress call and safely towed the disabled vessel to Bongao Port. According to the coast guard, the boat was carrying 10 crew members and 52 passengers and had been traveling to the municipality of Mapun when it experienced mechanical problems. All 62 people on board reached the port safely, and authorities said no injuries were reported.
