CHINESE FLOATING PLATFORM AT SEAPHILIPPINES - JUNE 15 - RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT “PHILIPPINE COAST GUARD" HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO —EDITORIAL USE ONLY—: The Philippine Coast Guard on Tuesday, June 16, accused China of violating the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) after revealing the presence of what it described as a Chinese floating platform in disputed waters. In a video statement, the Coast Guard said it had made the platform's presence public to inform both Filipinos and the international community about what it called China's continued violations of international maritime law. The Coast Guard also urged allies and like-minded nations to remain vigilant, warning that silence in the face of such actions would only encourage further violations. "The Philippines will not be silenced. We choose to stand up to bullies," the agency said.
