Caposele, Italy - July 16, 2026 Firefighters carried out an overnight rescue operation in Caposele, in the province of Avellino, after a man fell into an underground shaft during work activities. Crews from the Lioni and Avellino stations worked for more than five hours, carrying out a delicate excavation operation to reach the man and bring him to safety. After the operation was completed, the 37-year-old was pulled from the shaft and handed over to medical personnel for treatment.
