Italy: Boat On Verge Of Sinking Rescued At Genoa Marina In Urgent Salvage Operation.

Liguria, Italy - June 08, 2026 In the late afternoon of the previous day, firefighters were called to Marina Molo Giano to assist with a boat that was in the process of sinking. Diving teams from the fire service used special lifting balloons to bring the vessel back into a stable position. After that, they operated water removal pumps to reduce the amount of water inside the boat, helping stabilize it. Once the safety operations were completed, firefighters supported dock staff during the towing process toward the haul-out area. There, a crane was used to lift the vessel out of the water and transfer it onto land. The boat was then moved ashore for further checks on the condition of its hull.
