Iraq - June 02, 2026 Footage reportedly filmed by Iraqi workers at the Port of Umm Qasr showed the damaged Panama-flagged cargo ship MSC SARISKA V, including a large hole in its hull, following an explosion in Iraqi waters. The video emerged after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for an attack on the vessel, saying it had targeted the ship with a cruise missile in retaliation for what it described as a U.S. attack on the Iranian vessel Lion Star in the Sea of Oman. Iraqi media, meanwhile, reported that the ship was damaged by an explosion after completing unloading operations at Umm Qasr.
