Istanbul, Türkiye - August 22, 2026 Mobile phone footage shows smoke rising from the Black Sea off Istanbul's Arnavutkoy district after Turkish authorities destroyed an explosive-laden unmanned aerial vehicle in a controlled blast, August 22, 2026. Anglers discovered the device along the Karaburun coast on the European side of the city and alerted the Turkish Coast Guard, which deployed Underwater Defense commandos to tow the UAV offshore before detonating it.
