VARIOUS OF PEOPLE QUEUING FOR FUEL AT GAS STATIONTANGERANG, INDONESIA - JUNE 10, 2026: Indonesia increased the retail price of its flagship non-subsidized gasoline, Pertamax, on Wednesday, June 10, as authorities responded to rising global oil prices and growing import costs. Under the new pricing scheme, the price of Pertamax rose by more than 30% to 16,250 rupiah (about $0.90) per liter from 12,300 rupiah. The price of Pertamax Green 95 also recorded a significant increase. The adjustment follows a government-approved pricing formula that accounts for international crude oil prices and prevailing market conditions. Despite the hike for non-subsidized fuel, the government left subsidized fuels unchanged in an effort to protect consumers and contain inflationary pressures. Pertalite, the country's most widely used gasoline grade, remains priced at 10,000 rupiah (about $0.56) per liter, while subsidized BioSolar diesel continues to be sold at 6,800 rupiah (about $0.38) per liter. State-owned energy company Pertamina said fuel supplies remain secure nationwide. The company described the adjustment as necessary to ensure the sustainability of fuel distribution amid volatility in global energy markets and a weakening Indonesian rupiah.
