Storyline Demand for computing power in China grows as AI agents become widespread As AI agents become more widely adopted into China’s government and commercial sectors, demand for computing power is growing rapidly. In a newly built computing data center in Beijing, the first batch of 2000PetaFLOPS of computing power is about to go into production. A company rep said their server equipment wasn’t even fully installed when customer orders for rented computing power started coming in. They are now fully booked. Li Haibo, President, Beijing Fitodata Technology: "Our customer base is mainly government bodies and enterprises, telecom operators, as well as some internet companies and large language model firms. We continue to see very strong demand and a solid backlog of orders. When this project is fully operational, it will deliver 12,000 petaFLOPS of computing capacity." Currently, the average monthly rental price of a mainstream intelligent computing server is just under 15,000 U.S. dollars. But those prices are expected to keep rising. Li Haibo, President, Beijing Fitodata Technology: "Our current prices are at least 20% higher than last year. The supply of related equipment is still relatively tight, and I believe this upward trend will continue for some time." Information from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shows that as of the end of March the country's intelligent computing power scale had grown to 1882 EFLOPS.
