【Voice_over】 New data shows that China's electric vehicle charging network expanded rapidly in the first half of the year. According to the National Energy Administration there were over 23 million charging facilities as of the end of June – up more than 43 percent year on year. Public chargers surpassed 5 million, a 22 percent increase, while private chargers hit 18 million, surging over 50 percent. The data also shows that holiday charging demand continued to rise this year. During the May Day holiday, average daily highway charging volume reached 18.99 million kilowatt hours– close to 15 percent more than during the Spring Festival holiday. County and township charging networks are also expanding with data showing that by the end of June, county-level coverage had reached close to 99 percent. In October of 2025, China unveiled a three-year action plan to boost EV charging infrastructure. The goal is 28 million charging facilities nationwide by the end of 2027, with public charging capacity exceeding 300 million kilowatts. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
