【Voice_over】 Already summer. But here in Nyingchi, southwest China’s Xizang, I still need a light down jacket. The stable, cool climate here isn’t just comfortable, it’s exactly ideal for data centers. 【Sound_bite】 Wang Tianyu, Reporter: "This is where massive amounts of data are processed, stored and secured 24/7. Behind me are rows of servers powering cloud computing AI and digital infrastructure." 【Voice_over】 Keeping servers cool takes huge amounts of energy. But the naturally low temperatures in the region help reduce that pressure. 【Sound_bite】 Wang Tianyu, Reporter: "It's 19 degree Celsius right here in this corridor and I can feel strong cooling air coming out of the AC. I may get cold if I stay here for long." 【Voice_over】 Local officials say that despite being relatively remote from the inland regions, these digital infrastructures are laying the groundwork for future growth in the digital economy. 【Sound_bite】 Li Libo, Deputy Director, Economy and Information Technology Bureau of Nyingchi City: "We’ve built key digital infrastructure like the government cloud platform and data center, enabling data sharing and visualization, and laying the foundation for a data-driven economy." 【Voice_over】 So far, every major city in Xizang has established its own big data center, turning natural advantages into new drivers of growth.
