Comtec has supported the U.S. Army, U.S. military broadly, and coalition and partner countries for
0:12
about six decades at this point. We've built up a portfolio set that spans satellite communications
0:17
troposcatter. Common thread is resilient communications, capabilities that ensure that our users know the network's there when they need it. The way that I think about hybrid networks in
0:26
the most simplified form is we should be providing a system that allows the warfighter to not have to
0:32
worry about how their traffic is getting there. The sort of capability that ensures without
0:38
operator involvement, they're connected back, they've got the communications that they need to
0:43
complete the mission. And ultimately, creating more networks doesn't necessarily solve that
0:48
problem. You need them properly integrated, adaptable, and secure so that they're fit for
0:52
purpose. I think a lot of people think about troposcatter as these big fixed systems that
0:57
take a long time to set up and are very involved to operate. What we've built and developed over
1:03
the last few years is this small form factor, very adaptable, movable troposcatter system
1:08
And ultimately, it's important for a number of reasons. At the core of a hybrid network is you
1:12
want to make sure that your systems don't have the same failure modes. If all of your communications rely on space and you don't have access to space for whatever reason, troposcatter provides that
1:20
additional level and layer of connectivity for true redundancy. EDM is a good example of where we see US military communications heading over the next two years
1:29
It's highly digital, highly software defined, highly flexible, highly adaptable, and ultimately
1:34
the sort of system that allows for a long-term expiration date. The headroom and the ability
1:39
to bring in new capabilities, whether it's a commercial network, military network
1:43
bring that in, make that available to users over a very long period of time.
